The sterling silver has a scrap value depending on weight but you could run it past your local auctioneer to see if it has more value as a collectable. The Doulton platter won't be worth that much but an auctioneer again. The old helmets - Adverts.ie?

would you have any idea of a set value for the 3 helmets together??

No idea I'm afraid - it depends on what army, age and condition and whether anybody wants them. There's a couple of modern ones on Adverts.ie and a couple on eBay. Always a good place to check for similar items. Don't be fooled by items with high prices - just see what's actually selling rather than the asking price.

For some reason I can't see your images so cannot comment on your helmets. There is a Militaria subforum of this forum here: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=1003

Maybe someone there will be able to value your helmets.

Like JD says depends what kind of helmets they are. Could Brodie 'battle bowlers' that there were millions made of and survived in service up until (relatively) recently or something like an Irish Army German lookalike of which very few survive.
