Lexus is 220D technical review needed

Hi Folks,
thinking of buying a lexus is 220d 2006/2007 model. as i don't know much about this model. so any detailed review will be appreciated.

1:any particular thing to look into it before buying.
2: any potential problem which may arise mechanically.
3: is it reasonably powered.

Its hard to make a case for them.

They don't wear particularly well.

There are issues with the engine cooling system and injection

The power delivery is annoying. No power in the low revs.

6th gear is unusable as its too long. You'd have to be doing 90mph for the engine to be anywhere near happy.

They're taxed as 2.3

I'd so have an IS250 automatic instead, actually feels like a Lexus should. The 220d feels like a Massey Ferguson in comparison.

Couldn't agree more. I drove one (is220d) with the intention of buying it and it was a huge disappointment.

i was using 530d. unfortunately sold it. big mistake. now looking for a reasonably powered car in reasonable price range...
lexus attracted me by looks.
any other suggestion?
