Any recommendation of the case which would cover the 'pink' back fully?

Looking at this one, but I don't think it will cover completely.

I got this one during the summer from DX for the 32gig version of this pad, no complaints...

Thanks. seems it would still show a bit back from the side.

Probably I just use the permanent marker to get rid of the annoying color :D

    Out of stock.

I think it was in stock a couple of days ago. OOS is perhaps due to the popular demand these days.

I'm quite new to Android. I hear a lot of people talking about rooting their devices. Is that something I should do with this? What exactly do rooting it do, and how do I do it?

Not necessarily something you should do.. But it has it's advantages.
Rooting is giving yourself more permission on an android. Like when Windows asks for Administrator rights. On a branded phone (3/Vodafone/o2 etc.) Rooting can remove all the branding and bloatware running in the background.

More info and reasons here - http://gizmodo.com/5982287/reasons-to-root-your-android-device

Thanks for that link, makes a bit more sense to me now. Anyone know if the stock Android on this device is okay, or if there is a custom version that does a better job?

I haven't had hands on with this yet, Mine is up in Belfast. I don't think it would have too much bloatware, at least i'm not expecting it too have.
Rooting this tablet is very easy. There are a few different ways/

    To Root this tablet
    1. Download the newest version of Framaroot FROM HERE and transfer it to the tablets’s internal memory.
    2. Make sure you have enabled installation of app from unknown sources by navigating to “Setting>Security” and then select “Unknown sources” checkbox.
    3. Open any file manager (For example es file explorer) and go to where you have saved the Framaroot.apk file and click on it to install it.
    4. Now go to your apps, and start Framaroot.
    5. Click on Boromir and wait util a success message is shown.
    6. Reboot the tablet.

Just picked mine up from parcel motel, ordered xmas day. Seems very good for the price comparable to my ipad2 speed wise, wouldn't say videos are HD though.

No, they're not. The screen is only 800 pixels tall.

Picked up one today (at full price :( ) as a gift for somebody flying out on Saturday. Really good tablet, doesn't feel like a budget job, and I would say it's better than a Samsung Galaxy 3 7".

    Good value @ €149, a stonking bargain @ £59/69!! Sorry I didn't grab a couple upon seeing this thread.

Is HD not 1280x720 and this is 1280x800, so it is HD just not full HD?

And surely 800p on a 7 inch screen looks as good (or better) than 1080p on a 40 inch?

Was like a zombie from the lack of sleep refreshing the page from 5am both mornings. Coulda gotten way more, wasn't positive it was a bargain till I saw it this morning.... Bargain of the year.

I was determined as I completely humiliated myself searching for the hp touchpad.

I grabbed nice a Logik starter kit from Currys (was only €16 when bought a tablet). Nice case/stand, stylus (felt a bit odd at first) and a screen protector (I don't bother with these). You might get one on ebay or Amazon for less than €20.

I ordered on the 28th, Dispatched on the 29th, Delivered to Parcel Motel on the 31st.
No other info since then. Is anyone else the same? Or did anyone else have the same dates and already receive it?
    Thanks.

(I'm not sure if my PMID is on it, even though it is on TescoDirect, it seems to be missing from final address, but my name is different enough for it to find me, hopefully.)

When I ordered a Samsung Galaxy from Tesco Direct I emailed them and they agreed to add my PMID to the label, but when it arrived it turned out that they hadn't done this. It was up to PM to connect my name to PMID.

    Happened to one of mine.

I rang them and if there is no id on it it goes into a holding queue. You have to ring them with the tracking number and they will assign your pmid to it and deliver it next day.
