Seems no NCT, my concern would be emissions or suspension problems found at NCT stage. Try to take it over a roughish road or over some speedbumps and listen for knocks, particularly at low speed.

With a car like this the tyres will be around €200 a piece or possibly more if you go for premium brands, factor this in to possible costs to get it through the NCT.

All in all it's a cheap car, if it had service history or NCT history you could tell to what degree it has been in regular use, a worry would be that it's been sitting idle for months or years.

    EDIT...
Checked in on motortax.ie, has recently changed hands, takes the gloss of it unless has a valid NCT...

    Vehicle Registration Certificate
Most recent Vehicle Registration Certificate issued on : 29/10/2013

Lack of NCT doesn't concern me, because I mainly want it for a parts car.

My current Legend has cost me 4 times what I paid for it this year, and thats before I put 12 months tax on next month.

I love the looks of the KA9 facelift, but I couldn't bring myself to lose the extras in my current Legend just for a facelift.

Realistically, I don't need a parts car, but so far I could only buy parts from Honda main dealers, so a parts car would be handy.

    I'm in two minds...

That's a whole lot of car to have lying around. II'd imagine a parts car wouldn't be a fantastic investment unless you wanted it for extras/ specific parts.

I know, but I have the space and it saves me from buying parts from main dealers ever again.

Those S class are fantastic. Even with the 350 petrol or 320 diesel, they are beautiful pieces of machinery and silly cheap

Yeah the S class is a superb machine. I look forward to the current shape being somewhat more affordable.. I drove a 2006 S320 Cdi a good few times and reallyenjoyed the comfort of it.

6 months tax on a barge is a rarity! !

    Scarity... You'd have to wonder.

Really nice 7'er. Even though it is in silver (which I don't like on that era of bmw).
The 5.0 and 6 months tax make it almost too good to be true at that price

One thing I dont like when driving those 7 series is that you have nowhere to put you left hand on when using the armrest due to lack of gearbox selector. It's just hanging there.

    This was corrected on F01/02.

Generally, the hand shouldn't be resting on the gearstick (manual of course) as it can cause wear on the fork. Not having a go, just advice :)

Take up smoking cigars, its very befitting of the 7 series

It is very unlikely that I'll ever own one.

Besides, it was very tough giving up the smoking so I wouldn't start again.

Lolly pop and Punto will do me.

Return Of The Mack, anyone? ;)
1998 Mercedes-Benz SL320. 67k miles, CarsIreland says no NCT, so there's a few bob to haggle over.
    Asking €4,750

Don't know if this has been posted before, but it is a GENUINE AMG.
2000 Mercedes-Benz CL55 AMG. Fresh NCT, no mention of mileage however.
    Asking €6,500

Nice A8 alternative. Engine is the V6 TDI, but the comfort is very high I'd say.
2005 Volkswagen Phaeton 3.0 TDI. New NCT, 180k miles so a bit on the high side, but then it's a diesel.
Mileage could be factored in lowering the price.
    Asking €5,800.

That cl is stunning, the phaeton and the new Passat cc look nearly identical.

Pity about the god awful wheels on the Phaeton

The Phaeton has 180k kms on the clock so approx 112k, nice car for a commuter.
