Why not Rangers? Makes me laugh when people say Celtic & then used to cheer the Scottish football team when they were playing in the 90's & 00's against England & 7 or 8 players were from Rangers.

The most successful club in Scottish football history, they always had the edge on Celtic and they'll be back again before long.

Some Irish people seem to have a have a collective inferiority complex towards England and keepers of the Union, it's well documented at this stage even the yanks and Aussies just slip it as a windup.

When Ferguson can make a team with limited resources like Porto win the Uefa Cup and then the champions league the following year then maybe he can be called the greatest.
Not saying Jose hasn't achieved things, because he has, but he's not even close to Ferguson achievement wise & he recognizes that fact himself.

It reminds me of the time Ireland were playing in Landsdown and the crowd thought one of the other team players played for Rangers and kept booing him.
Anyone remember did they maje an announcment to set people straight on poor the bewildered lad?

Ferguson has been a manager a lot longer than Mourinho, Mourinho will easily have more trophies than Ferguson when he retires.

He won't, Jose doesn't stay anywhere long enough to build on something, he goes to teams with financial clout where he can splash out on players. When his current love affair with chelsea ends I think he'll take a stab at international management

Did you see that ludicrous display last night?

What was Wenger thinking, sending Walcott on that early?

He wins trophies every where he goes. It takes more skill to continually have success at different teams. Look what he did with Inter Milan, he didn't have much resources there and he did the treble.

In most of Ireland, football refers to Gaelic.

Association Football is called Soccer here.

    I support Cork.

I'm always amused by the England-centred universe of the Soccer Sorrys.

Why should somebody from Ballynabogs support an English soccer club?

It takes all kinds I suppose.

If Irish soccer followers supported their local clubs instead of spending their money travelling to games in England and buying overpriced English club gear, we might have a few half-decent teams here.

    X2.

liverpool and United are the two most successful teams in England and are the two most supported here in Ireland. Its no coincidence.

People like to associate themselves with things that are successful. No point supporting the local side when they never win anything.

Supporting the "scousers" or the "mancs" give people a reason to be cheerful when they win. Harmless really.

    Like WWF.

Horrible sport to watch though. Nil all draws after 2 hours? No thanks.

Give me hurling/football everyday of the week and twice on a sunday.

    Each to their own though.
