Rounding off the year with the most pointless thread. Cant believe someone would even compare fr ted to this not funny show

The 4% who picked mbb should be flogged.

I'm shocked at how close the poll results are - I expected no more than 10 supporters of that awful programme that some christen as 'comedy'.

Asking that poll question is like asking "Which do you prefer: French or Spanish people?"...evidently 97% of pollsters will pick Atari Jaguar.

I normally wouldn't even click on a thread that mentioned mbb but I'm drunk and I'm bored and it keeps f###ing popping up.
It's a disgrace of a program and does not deserve to be mentioned in the same light as Father Ted.

Note to self. Never ever click on thread mentioning mmb again.

Mrs Brown's Boys all the way. Don't find Father Ted one bit funny.

How not? There's even a part where Fr Jack tells someone to 'feck off'!

MBB is so **** I don't know if people are trolling when they say they prefer it over Ted.

It's a year of so old, but I'm just watching Channel 4's 'greatest [Channel 4] sitcoms of the last 30 years'... and guess what #1 is?

There is no trolling involved in stating a preference for either one; I mean did we all not laugh our heads off when Ted kicked the guy in the purple robes in the bum? Were we not all in hysterics at the old priest guy who sat in the chair and said nothing but "feck" all the time? The more I look at the structure and scripts of each show the more the similarities become unignorable.....

1,384 vs 64 = Father Ted wins by a landslide!

Wins what? The clicky button competition?

If nothing else this thread has been the catalyst for me watching Speed 3 in bed tonight

At least there was a build up and story and there were characters.

MBB just uses cock and tits jokes. There's no talent there.

I'm laughing at some people claiming MMB's popularity in ratings doesn't equal quality but that FT winning an internet poll does.

MBB is the least funny program in Ireland, I understand...

It's like the jokes in MBB are aimed at 12 year olds, yet cant be, as it has cursing and dick jokes in it. Auld ones seem to like it, probably because they think they can relate to it. It makes you cringe more than anything. It truly is an awful show, and you really have to question the mentality of people who like it. They are the type who find that unfunny idiot Lee Evans hilarious.

Comedy, Music, etc., are all subjective so there's no real right/wrong answer, everyone has different tastes.

Except of course in this case. In this case there's quite clearly a right answer and it's not that heap of ****e MBB.

Also nice when O'Carroll was on The Late Late and Tubridy brought up about him donating 300k to charity. I couldn't believe it. Talk about blowing your own trumpet.

I'm sure most celebs who make a decent bit donate lots to charity. He sought praise for it.

If there was 10 options up there to choose from id still question the input of MBB

such an awful show he should have left it at the books.

TBH I've never seen, what's it called? Mrs Browns Boys? And I can tell you its shyte compared to me :p

Father Ted wins this hands down for me. If you were around at the time you'd understand the impact it had. The fact that people can still quote it 17 years later and there are so many memorable moments says it all.

That said, I don't like MBB but watched it Christmas Day and did chuckle a couple of times. It's not my cup of tea but Brendan O'Carroll has hit on something and good luck to him. He's had more success than most of the people having a go at him on here will ever have so fair play.

Unfortunately when Ted phoned Larry Duff with the news, Larry was caught up in the landslide.

Loads of people like MBB so it must be good. Just like religion, Nazism , smoking , junk food and Godwins law

No, I'm pretty sure that people are saying Father Ted is quality because its genuinely funny and doesnt have to resort to cheap vulgarity to get a laugh from its audience.
