Yes but his manager said he was just tired.

Have you a link for this? I couldn't find it online.

If he is even just tired though, why not start Dzeko or Jovetic and test him. Bring him on if needed.

I'm sticking with Suarez I think, although Rooney is very tempting against Norwich.

The only place I've seen it (bar on here) is from the BBC's Ian Cheeseman.

Even that tweet though just says he "could" be fit.

Yes, that was the journalist giving his opinion. He has the word ''tired'' in quotation marks, indicating that Pellegrini actually said that.

Fit or not, I do think there's a decent chance he'll be rested tomorrow. He's played a lot of games lately and Palace at home is a good time to rest him.

Blatter has linked to where I seen it.
Jovetic was injured for yesterdays game . I've seen nothing to suggest he'll be availbale for tomorrow.

Because he's away to Chelsea! There are clearly better options.
Apart from Rooney or maybe Walcott I don't see any other outstanding candidates. Chelsea's defence this year has been awful. Suarez was excellent yesterday despite ending up with 1 point.

Lukaku is too inconsistent and nobody seems to know who will start up front for City.

He had an illness according to Physioroom and will be fit for the weekend.

He was back from injury pre Xmas AFAIK and I haven't heard of any new injury which would have him out long term.

Jovetic is out with a hamstring problem according to Sky Sports.

Thanks for that. Makes it a bit clearer with him definitely out of the picture.

Not sure. Bit sorry for Suarez against City, because that one point doesn't speak at all to the fact he was excellent. Tempted to give the armband to Negredo, but again worried about rotation. At home to Crystal Palace...they should walk it, but it's exactly the kind of game where they'll take the foot off the gas, especially about the battle they had with Pool only 48 hours ago.

So as of right now, I don't know.

Turner out for Norwich, more reason to go with Rooney

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,694 ✭✭✭✭CSF

Think I'm just going to take the risk with Negredo. If I had Rooney, I wouldn't, but I don't and amn't bringing him in because I've already made 3 transfers, so no.

Bottled it. Transfer number 4. Lukaku out for Dzeko who is now captain.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,022 ✭✭✭✭Iused2likebusts

i think for anyone considering getting dzeko in the only reason to do it is if you are going to make him captain. Its the ultimate one week punt.

Yeah. Can get away with it with it being wildcard season too.

Still chewing on it. If I had Rooney, it'd be his. But I don't. Am now leaning towards Suarez. Could see him managing two against Chelsea, but it's a risk too. Sigh.

Rooney for me, safe option I think

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

Negredo for me if he starts after coming off with Silva VC.

I'll probably bring Dzeko in, and I think I'll captain him.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,880 ✭✭✭TimeToShine

Has to be Negredo with Walcott/Suarez as VC. Dzeko is very worth the punt though especially with the wildcard coming up, it could pay off very nicely. However, if it's another Negredo start with Dzeko getting his 15 minutes then it'd be a disaster.

I think the safest option is Rooney but I don't have him so it'll have to be Negredo, he has been horribly unlucky of late and I'm sure Mancini will want to give him the chance to nab some goals as a reward for his performances, and what better game to do this in than against CPL?

I wouldn't necessarily agree...Dzeko is a gamble, so if I was bringing him in I'd be thinking reducing the risk by captaining someone safe. At least that way if he doesn't start and only makes a cameo it's only half the disaster it could have been.

Think I'm going to put faith in Yaya Toure with the captaincy.

absolutely im wildcarding jan 1 and my next transfer will be another one week punt probably sterling at home to hull. Total fpl and ffs have dzeko starting . I honestly think he is the safest bet along with milner to start out of citys front 6.

the way i see it is I have rooney, suarez, walcott and will possibly have silva so if they turn out to be great capt choices atleast im getting half the points. Im using up a transfer this week and probably next week with dzeko so to make that worthwhile I think I have to captain him. Once dzeko starts even if he only gets a 2 pointer I'll feel my decision was justified.

On Dec 29th 2012 Walcott scored 3 and assisted 2 against Newcastle. On Dec 29th 2013 Arsenal play Newcastle.

    Hmmmm..

Except that was at home, IIRC. I remember it well; had Podolski as well, for a one week punt, and he did the business.

remember it well newcastle had a tough game at old trafford a couple of days earlier while arsenal had a weeks rest as there game was called off due to a tube strike. The best 52 points Ive ever got in this game everyone was on rvp at home to wba and he came on as sub and got a last minute goal. Not many had walcott at all as cazorla had scored a hat trick at reading a couple of weeks before.
