What sort of crowds are Celtic getting at home these days?

Real figures, not one that includes Season ticket holders.

    About 30k today i think

I cant see anyone defending this tbh

Official today was 46k I believe. Estimates of actual today around the 30k mark

It'll only get worse the way fans are being treated IMO

Ah no you have that wrong. It is all the fault of the GB, now they are gone everyone will go rushing back and the atmosphere will be amazing. They are responsible for everything bad regardless of what the evidence or lack of it says.;) Incidentally very well done to them today for their efforts for the foodbank. The amount they collected was unreal and that was without any help from Celtic PLC despite promises to help publicise it.

On another note watched the match today and it was really frustrating. As has been said if Ledley and Sammi want away then give some of the others on the bench a chance. Would love to see some fresh legs on there.

Signing Finnbogason was always unlikely and he's said as much recently. His next step was always a top league not another feeder league.

Who said as much, Finnbogason? When did he say that and what exactly did he say? If it was the case that he was holding out to go to a top league, we'll never know because Celtic didn't meet the asking price from Heerenveen to get the chance to ask him if he would come to Celtic. I've seen it reported recently that Celtic didn't meet the 5 million valuation Heerenveen had of the player. If that's true, then the board completely failed in their job of securing adequate replacements for players sold and of using the resources at their disposal to equip the team properly.

The board are pissing off the fans on lots of fronts at the moment. It appears that they have disappeared up their own holes and are sitting on their laurels after the CL campaign last season. This arrogance has extended to shabby treatment of supporters in the stadium. These are successful times for Celtic domestically and there is great opportunity to do relatively well at CL level, but the board are contriving to put a dampener on things by failing in their duties.

Sometimes you have to gamble and in my opinion if Alf can be signed in January,he'll be settled in for the CL next session.
I thought Teemu was good yesterday,so perhaps he'll also come good.

There's only a very small number of us on here who don't seem to think our board can do no wrong.

The club have backed down over the pathetic ban on flags/banners at MacDiarmid Park. Seems they listened to the backlash and realised how few people would turn up. We know they don't care about our fans or the history and traditions of our club but the one thing they will pay heed to are dipping profits. Hit them where it hurts.

He has looked quite good in the recent games for sure. But I still feel to lose Ledley would be a massive blow for us.

To be fair their keepr MacDonald made a few good saves but one in each half in particular which looked like certain goals and kept them in the game a lot longer then they otherwise would have been. A decent if not brilliant performance. Man of the match for me was Izzy who once again was excellent and sent in a steady stream of good crosses.

I suspect you jumped the gun by blaming our club yet again, but that does not surprise me:
We have an excellent relationship with everyone at St Johnstone FC and we thank them and the police for reviewing their initial decision.

Let's hope the fans can go to the game without fireworks. None of this stuff - this pathetic flag ban or the GB nonsense - would have happened if people just followed simple rules.

Hilarious if true, although I don't know how that conversation would have to go without it being discovered.

    'tis quite funny :D.

On a serious note though, why are the Celtic board taking the blame for a decision apparently made by St. Johnstone and the Perthshire polis?

That's my point. Some of our fans will happily blame the PLC for their hangovers on Stephens Day.

Latest on the flegs - from that statement, it definitely does look like they called the wrong club yesterday :D:

FOR clarity, Celtic Football Club has received confirmation that flags and banners will now be permitted at the match against St Johnstone on Boxing Day.

Last week, Celtic Football Club noted the advice given by local police regarding safety, flags and banners at the match.

We acknowledge we had not received final confirmation yesterday in terms of a change. However, we are pleased, following consultation and discussion over the past couple of days, that the initial decision has been reviewed by the Police and St Johnstone FC.

As we have said, football is about colour and atmosphere and creating a positive occasion for all and everything should be done to ensure that such an event can take place.

However, we should also bear in mind that supporter safety is of paramount importance and we would re-iterate, therefore, that we do not welcome any form of pyrotechnics or smoke bombs at our matches.

We want to see our matches played in a positive and safe atmosphere and we hope this will be the case on Boxing Day.

Firstly, Finnbogason wasnt available for £5m during the summer. Celtic were chancing their arm because of their debt problem which wasnt a big enough problem to flog Finnbogason at a cut price. Celtic were told as much in a very public manner. EPL clubs we looking at him too and nothing happened for them either but according to some £5m and he'd have swam the North Sea to play in the SPFL! The price for him is only coming down now because he's told the club that he wont be signing a new contract.

Secondly, it was only a day or two after his initial statement about where he'll go that he clarified that he would be leaving for a "top league". Do you think SPFL fits that description? It was only a few weeks ago that Virgil van Dijk claimed that the SPFL is just about on par with Eredivisie. Finnbogason will know this too because he lived in Scotland, he has a better idea about Scottish Football than most foreign players.

Dempsey, no doubt all that's true and no doubting flares and other pyro are dangerous but the Record headline is a tad OTT and without doubt scaremongering bordering on hysteria.

Taken in context very few people die from pyro at sporting events in any given year whilst 150 people die every year in the States from peanut allergies.

This isn't a dig at you but at the hysteric headline from the Record... which has probably been prompted by someone else.

Some poor girl recently died in Dublin from a peanut allergy.

    Awful.

Well the board werent very pro active were they when the ban was first announced? Not a peep from them. AFAIK they 'reluctantly' accepted it, if thats the case then shame on them.

Just nothiced this from few days ago on St J website
At a meeting last week and in consideration of the safety requirements of the match and based on the risk assessment provided by Police Scotland on their current intelligence of potential disorder at the game, St Johnstone FC and Celtic FC endorsed a Police Scotland suggestion that a ban be placed on flags and banners for the match between the clubs at McDiarmid Park on Boxing Day.

Can you provide some links to what you're saying please. I've read newspaper reports recently that he was available for 5 million last summer but Celtic baulked at the asking price.

This article linked is from last August: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2389590/Celtic-pay-5m-Heerenveen-striker-Alfred-Finnbogason.html

They might be wrong, but then again maybe it's you that is wrong.

Did he say this recently or did he say this last summer. Again links please.
