How to pronounce Rudolph

    So we're having a debate in the house over the correct prononciation of Rudolph (I know we've lilttle to do).
    Anyway my wife and daughter both say the L is silent as in Rudoff but my Son and I disagree.
    So please help us settle this once and for all.

    Oh and happy christmas everybody.

    I'm with your Mrs on this, always been pronounced with a silent 'l' in our house.

    I've always heard the non-silent "L" version as well so I'm with you and your son.

    That's mental. I've never heard anyone pronouncing it without the L yet there are a couple who do in this thread already.

    It's a German name and although the pronunciation can change in a different language I always heard Ru-dol-ph

    In German the 'l' would not be silent.

    I feel like everyone who is saying they pronounce it Rudoff are all in on a big secret to troll everyone else. Never heard it pronounced that way ever. Is it a certain area that says it that way or something?

    Carlsberg= Calsberg

    After=Atter

    Chimney= Tschimbley

    The Dub is not used to making the effort to formulate the words correctly.

    Just open the gob use as little effort as possible

    That's why she likes Rudoff
