    Is it real ? And if so has anyone tried it.

    Mods unsure if its ok to ask so feel free to delete thread if not.

    It only exploits the Wii mode doesn't it, which is completely separate from the Wii U's usual functions.

    Yes I believe so. I've no interst in the Wii U side, just that I have a USB HDD on my original Wii with some emulators etc. Would like to see it on the Wii U so I could pass on the Wii to my young nephew.

    I'm not the most confident when it comes to modding and the like

    Yeah the mod definitely works, or at least did the last time I heard. There's been a few firmware updates since then though so I'm not sure if it still does
