Failed to get lucky.. Bad Breath!

While staying at a hostel abroad I met this 22 year old Australian girl. I thought I blew my chances with her chances with her after a slightly racist comment about the Chinese, but having interacted with her a bit more I realised we got along quite well.

The next day we were talking about how old we were over breakfast and it happened to be my birthday. She was surprised at how I planned on doing nothing for my birthday and insisted that I should do something. Later that night after I had arose from a nap, I entered the common area where she and a gang of about a dozen(who I'd exchanged with) were seated at a table. I wasn't even dressed properly and still wearing my pyjama top. She announced that it was my birthday and then everybody sort of insisted that I we go out. When everyone was getting up and when it was kind of noisy, she said something like "oh I just want to stay here with you". Even though I was aware that my breath stank, I still asked her if she could come to my room to help me pick out a shirt.

When we went into my dorm room she was very giddy. And after we picked out a shirt I put on, she started talking about how I reminded her of some actor. I knew that this was my chance but didn't know what to do as my breathe stank. This annoyed me and as I was looking away in the process it somehow made me look shy to her which she also said. Well I guess there's no need to say what happened after that. I still often think about it(more so than I think about her) and how lucky I could have felt if I hadn't missed this opportunity. Some girls on vacation just want to get screwed.

Is there something that you can do if you've a bad breath?

At that point we were still about to leave with the crowd. It would be hard to say, "stay here, I must brush my teeth" I guess

No it wouldn't. "Excuse me, I'll be back in a minute". If you had needed to pee would you have just sat there hoping not to wet yourself rather than excusing yourself for a minute?

My breath smells like a tramp's bum
I'm not about to get some
    Really wish I had gum
I'm about to fail to get lucky, about to fail to get lucky, about to fail to get lucky

I thought it was an unwritten rule that everybody that stays in hostels has to have terrible personal hygiene?

But there wouldn't really have been any reason for her to stay in the room. I mean there's a good chance she new my intentions and may well have stayed, but she mightn't have. I didn't think of that at the time

In all fairness, I'd have just told her that I was going to brush my teeth. No woman alive would frown at the thought of a lad looking after his choppers.
    It's generally a good sign.

and they have to tell really dull stories, yet insist everything was much better and cheaper where they were.

This has got to be a joke.

You were aware your breath stank but still went down stairs anyway. Did you not wash them that morning? Get a big bottle of Listerine and a big tube of Colgate. Also visit a dentist, and stop eating your s*it. Utter fail OP, for shame.

I once stayed at a crazy place and met loads of Nicaraguan poets.

It was so cheap that the hostel actually paid you to stay.

I was the only Irish person to ever stay there. Ever.

It was great fun arguing with the local peasants and trying to bargain them down to one fifth of a cent for a hand carved facsimile of the local fertility God.

The snob in me automatically assumes everyone who stays in hostels has bad breath. And lice.

ah yeah, but it wasn't the same after the mid 90s when the mainstream DJs took over the residencies in the clubs and it got all commercialised.

For some reason I'm picturing you wearing khakis and a pith helmet.

If that was the case, I'd take the blunderpuss to the natives instead of bargaining with the blighters.

    Yes, all peasants!

OP: You've got a lot to learn... but you're still young. All in good time.

PS: I used to be self-conscious about my smokey, alcoholic breath... until a few girls told me that they loved it. Something about it being "primal" or "reminds me of my dad" or something.

Down stairs? I was very busy those few days, because unlike everybody else wasn't exactly on holidays. It wasn't that I didn't brush that morning. It's just sometimes your breath can smell on rare occasions, for various reasons

    No, it's not a joke

You don't tell her you have to brush your teeth! Just tell her you've got to take a massive sh1te.

No, it's just for student travelers really. Would you say that college students living in a rented house all have lice??

Aye, you always know you're on the right path when somebody you're trying to ride tells you that you remind them of their parent.

You'd have been grand. Sure she would not know the difference after you gave her a blowjob.
