I'm on about since we are testing the DW20 pack atm, will we be keeping the map we are currently testing on if it stays or will it be another fresh start? :P

Guessing it would be staying. No point in getting rid of everyone's stuff if the same mod pack would be staying

Way back, we used to test on a map and then start fresh again when we opened it up to the whitelist. Probably don't need to do that these days. Back then there was a mad rush to get the best plot

On the FTB Launcher, it's Direwolf20 (v1.03) for 1.6.4. If you were on earlier, as I was, you'll probably need to Force Update (in Options) before it'll let you on.

Don't know if I'll stay, though. There are so many mobs around, day and night, that it's practically impossible to get anything done on the ground. I was getting killed then re-spawning literally surrounded by spiders and zombies. No fun at all.

Just build a base with a bed, be grand.

I cleaned it up a bit. Theres a small farm and a mine now which should provide shelter for people. The entrance is right beside the farm just break the 2 cobble to the left of the farm entrance. I also cleared the trees a bit to prevent mobs spawning during the day. effing jungle spiders man :eek:

Found a stronghold only has one ender thingie if people fancy donating. I have 2 growing, but I died in there and lost all my stuff including 4 more seeds and 2 obvlivion frames.. I am gutted so I just quit xD

But yeah, if anyone has ender pearls can you let me know and we get there and start farming some endermen? :v

Also are TE pipes disabled? None of my fluiducts or energy pipes are connected after the update.

You have to put them on a crafting grid to fix them.

So what's the address the Survival server is currently on?
Survival 188.165.244.23:25565 in the opening post doesn't appear to work?

Also, what version of minecraft should I be running to connect?

Edit: I've noticed I get connection refused, but if I change the port to 25566 I get connection reset by peer, that's Feed the beast whatever that is. So is the Survival server deaded?

2nd Edit: Might be a white listing issue, seems there is a new thread for requesting access again, have posted there. Hopefully that's all it was.

Botulism he's referring to the vanilla server not the ftb server.

Warning to all playing ftb: Placing silverwood trees, as you know can cause a pure node to spawn. Spawning a pure node will convert the area around the tree (10x10 afk) into a magical forest biome. As this is the case, creating a dark node most likely creates taint. Both of these biome changes WILL spread and the only way to reset them to their original biome (only confirmed for taint as of now) is to create ethereal bloom (quite a pain in the ass to make). I have learned this the hard way, and have an ugly lime green chunk in my garden...

Download the FTB launcher, and select the Direwolf20 1.6.4 modpack once youve opened the launcher

Currently the worker monkeys are making it all pretty and working

And yeah just install that thing up there ^ and update the mod pack when prompted you should be fine. FTB server details are on the OP

So, I can't allocate more than 1GB of ram, and FTB keeps crapping itself with an out of memory error. It was suggested to try 64bit java. However, I've only a 32 bit processor, so I'm fairly sure I can't use 64bit java. Guess I'll have to wait for the Vanilla server, and leave FTB till I upgrade.

Yeah Crimson, unfortunately the FTB pack is atrocious on 32 bit java, and you cannot install 64 bit java on if you have a 32 bit processor. May I ask what kind of system you are running? Are you sure it is only a 32 bit processor, and not just a 32 bit OS I had an old, and I mean OLD, laptop before this one (we are talking Intel 945 graphics) and FTB was a nightmare. I think it was even this server I was on back when we were on 1.4.7 witht hat crappy laptop. Hopefully something can be sorted out, but if not, we will see you on the vanilla side! I plan on getting into it too, as I ever really played vanilla much before.

On the ethereal bloom mess: It works! Slowly but it works.

Also they have changed silverwood trees now. Instead of needing goggles to locate the node within the trunk, the is a very obvious black mark on the log that contains the node. Breaking the log breaks the node, even in survival mode. So you don't need the goggles or any thaumcraft knowledge to destroy the pure node/lime green pox spreading demon.

Oh and the ethereal bloom reverts land back to its original biome with the same radius as the pure node would do the opposite (8x8 from the centre)

All the fixes I've found are serverside. I've tried a full reinstall. Any ideas ?

Server hasnt updated. Launch 1.0.4 or 1.0.3 of the launcher. The one before the latest version

Ok, but all I did was follow your instructions from earlier in the thread. I need to read more closely

Download the FTB launcher, and select the Direwolf20 1.6.4
