Ever have somebody in a job that thinks they are the boss?

Basically, some girl that started, a week after me, thinks that she is somehow my boss. Basically, whenever my manager isn't around, she starts trying to lecture me, give me jobs and tries to correct me if I'm wrong.

It's as if she observes everything that I do.

I had a guy, a few jobs ago, who also thought that he was the boss when he was just a normal employee. Going around and trying to suck up to the manager. Why don't people just lay off other people and worry about there own duties?

I think that there is at least one of these people in every job, and they are usually the lazy ones

    Anyone else agree?

    Tell them to F___-Off

That's how I solved my issue

Tell her to fuck off. If you don't do it soon she'll keep doing it, and before you know it she will be your boss. If she's really pissing you off, report her to HR.

Tell everyone you saw her pick her bum.

    That will show her.

Sounds like they're achievers and you're a slacker. Sorry op. You're destined for mediocrity.

Are you sure she's not actually your boss? Is she more senior than you? Or in a management type of position. I'm paid at the same low grade as many others, but I'm actually in a position where I have to tell people they're doing something wrong.

But otherwise call her a bitch to her face and threaten to have sex with her boyfriend.

She sure sounds like a go-getter who will be promoted well ahead of you. Good for her.

I think some people like that don't realise they are like that, they are bossy in other areas of their life, friends, family, and have always been like that, just ignore them. but be polite as well, they are not your boss.

Tell her to go play in traffic, she isn't in the position to tell you what to do, there is such thing as being a team player and giving a little constructive advice but too much of being in your ear would get a bit tedious alright.

OP YOU really need to take control of this situation. Or else soon enough she will be your boss. You need to stand your ground and create a clear boundary between you, your work and her.

Play this song constantly on your phone whenever she does it. Subliminal messaging (well perhaps not so subliminal)

Sounds like she's a lazy uppity bitch who thinks she can bully others into doing her work for her. I notice the OP points out that she only behaves like this when the boss isn't around.

It's uncertain people I can't stand. I find that when the boss isn't around they need a bit of guidance or nothing would get done.

Tell your boss you caught her fingering herself in the jacks.

Tell her where to go is right thats if she's not more senior than you.

What annoys me more is when people that are more senior than you are as thick as 2 planks its horrible.

I wouldn't say they're always the lazy ones but they generally have a chip on their shoulder.
We have a girl within the company I work for who's done this a lot - she thinks she's daycennnnnnt, but she's a vainglorious twat who keeps getting mysteriously shifted from shop to shop because managers can't stand her.
A good manager will know and see this aspect of her personality, dislike her and possibly discipline her, a bad manager will either be blind to it or see it as a positive trait out of a stupidity borne from bad managers teaching new blood how to be knobs.

As a peer, those people are annoying, yes. They are trying to take on additional responsibilities without being told to do so. And yeah, they are playing politics, kissing up to people above them, trying to position themselves in a role of authority with you.

But at the same time - when the company needs to promote someone....who are they going to promote? The person who does their job or the person that does their job, and kisses up to them, who has been trying to demonstrate their abilities as a leader and all that jazz.

Don't hate the player, hate the game.

The most bossiest dick I have ever met was in my first job. I was only 16. It was only Dunnes Stores but there was this 21 year old complete knob-end working in the deli section with me.

He was only in the job a few weeks and started bossing people around while having such a condescending tone. We all hated him. Very poncey and very smug individual. But of course he would lick the ring-piece off the managers.

Out of all the jobs I had I never met anyone close to as bad as him. He is probably a manager these days, dont ya know it.
