Doesn't seem to go through anymore.
Tried with a Laser and MasterCard via FatCheese and keep getting this error.

just tried today and got that same error (2 times), not sure what it's about.

emailed vodafone about it, waiting to hear back now but who knows how long that will take.

Could anyone advise if they were able to get a flip case or plastic skin for the smart mini. I'm finding it very difficult to get either.

Was able to get one for free with my cherrypoints from the vodafone site. Had trouble finding them elsewhere .

This is the only thing I could find on the voda site. Is this what you got? Does in fit the smart mini as well.

The Vodafone shop in Omni has clear and flip covers for it, think they are 9.99/14.99

having exactly the same problem finding a plastic/silicone case for the smart 3, even searching for it as the alcatel v975. :(

I've found the covers for the iPhone 3 (available in 2 euro )fit quite well. The socket holes don't match but better than nothing (especially if you ordered the pink color by mistake!)

Is it a close fit for the smart mini or the smart 3 ?

I have pending on my account... what does it mean?
Is it useless to use fatcheese with vodafone?

To anyone that has gotten one of these from Vodafone, how are you finding it?
I'm really thinking of getting my mam one for Christmas. She is already on Vodafone but I would like to get it unlocked for her and for her to switch to O2 purely because of their Freedom Talk tarriff (all calls to any network/landlines free). - Will note the unlock code listed here, thanks.
What is the display like on it? For reading texts etc? Is it very small? ...
as she does have reading glasses.
Anyway, any advice appreciated as the price is good at €39.99, and no more than most of my friends, this year my Christmas funds are at an all time low :(

You'd be mad to buy the Vodafone Smart Mini!

The Vodafone Smart 3 is much better and it's the same price at the moment with the discount they're doing. Bigger screen too.

There's a thread about it here. You'll need to have a non-Vodafone sim that you don't need, in order to avail of the €20 off for porting.

I bought the mini a few months ago. My very 1st smart phone so I don't have anything to reference it against, but I absolutely love it and it was a steal for the money.

I believe the only difference between the smart 3 and the smart mini is the screen. The smart 3 has a bigger screen and a better resolution, so it's worth going for that over the mini for that reason alone, especially since I think they're the same price?

Edit: Actually, the camera on the smart 3 is much better too which is another reason to pick that over the mini :)

    Thanks a million! Hadn't spotted that... :)
Couple of questions though... the only spare sim I have is one I bought in a 3 store over a year ago when I was thinking of switching networks... To cut a long story short I put this sim away safely - SO safely that I lost it! Few months later, I just went into a 3 store and changed network there and then. Anyway, my question is, do you think I'd be able to use the first 3 sim I got to avail of this deal? Didn't register it at the time and I just came across it the other day while doing a bit of de-cluttering.

Also, my second question.... I just went on the link you suggested for the smart three porting your number and it said they'll send a security code to my number - I wonder if I put the sim in my phone (I'm on 3 now anyway) will that work? (for getting the security code, I mean)

I'm pretty sure that sim will work fine. I ported mine from a sim I got from meteor that had been laying around for ages (never registered or topped up). If you pop that sim into your phone for long enough to receive the security code, you're good to go.

Thanks a lot, sounds good! I will have a go tomorrow using it.
