UTV HD has been added on 138 , while a place holder has appeared on 135 for RTE1 launching next Monday 16th.

no more pixelation on UTV !

BBC today also launched 5 new HD Channels to Freeview and Virgin ,,so I expect to see them on UPC Today !

Fantastic news about UTV HD

Champions league matches were terrible to watch because the picture on the normal UTV channel was awful.

Sky UK only
The New BBC HD Channels are not available on Sky Ireland
No info if this will change
Its also not possible to add the channels manually
A symbol rate of 23000 is needed for the frequencies (10847V, 11023H) which can't be entered manually on a Sky HD box.

Freesat yes you get the new BBC HD Channels

Freeview only available if you can pick up a good signal from transmitter in Northern Ireland

No info yet from UPC if were getting the New BBC HD channels

HD swapping is only done for Horizon people, either because the "classic" UPC software isn't capable of it, or because all Horizon customers have to take HD whereas for other customers it's an add on and it's possible to have a HD box without the HD package. Speaking on which I presume RTE One HD at least will be available to non-HD customers with HD boxes, what about UTV?

UTV is available without a HD subscription.

As an aside, Ch 119 has been cleared of the on demand ads probably to make way for another channel?

I wonder does this mean that RTE1 HD "officially" launches next Monday ? I know it has already soft launched on Saorview, but could this be in anticipation of an announcement from RTE and possibly even lead to it being on Sky as well soon ?

TV3 won't be pleased, they're showing the Man Utd CL match tonight along with UTV who are now HD on UPC. Don't forget to switch over to the TV3 studio pundits at half time!

TV3, whether through lack of funds or inertia, have made a big boo boo here by not at least soft launching a HD version on UPC and Sky. They will now basically lose all their 'ITV' show viewers to UTV - I personally watched them on TV3 previously but not anymore!

I Don't see that happening as TV3 so far not mentioned any offical launch for a HD Channel
TV3 have mentioned a commitment to launching a HD channel and have the ability for HD with the Sony HD Studio Dublin

With UTV Ireland 2015 Launch will we get TV3 HD
I can see also UPC HD + Box be not supplied at some stage and UPC only supply Horizon Box to customers with only 1 EPG in use

It wouldn't free up any bandwidth, classic UPC users would still need the SD versions.

Thanks, these 2 channels still have the same problem

124 Sky Living (English / NAR)
412 Setanta HD (English / udf)

Also, UTV HD is ahead of UTV SD. Normally the delay is on the HD channel

Fair play to upc over the last week or two, some additions to the epg at last!

Would be good to get all the bbcs in hd, the'4'channels, fx and mtv live hd. Would be happy enough then with the line up, fairly competitive vs sky if they can pull that off.

Atlantic will never come so I'm being realistic.

Ps can't believe sky are still charging €15 for hd!

We dont get Setanta HD with SKY
Main Box Subscription €19.99
I also have 2 multiroom Setanta Subscriptions
1st multiroom subscription is free
2nd multiroom subscription is €2.99
€22.98 a month for 3 Subscriptions

I would cancel but not a option as my tenants would not be happy to loose Setanta/BT Sports Pack
They don't get access to UPC Digital TV
UPC Horizon is in my room and I also have Sky
They only get access to the Broadband
Digital TV I supply using SKY for tenants

Now UPC have better Setanta/BT Sports Pack than Sky

I wonder if Setanta have plans to introduce Setanta HD Channels on Sky

UPC Multiroom setup cost to expensive as only have UPC in my Room and (Living Room point not used)
I Would only consider UPC Multiroom if install of 2 new points was free and 2 UPC HD Boxes was free
The UPC multiroom Subscription be ok just get tentants to pay but i doubt they would as they get Sky for free

Isn't the reason being that BBC2 SD and HD has different programmes. They don't always mirror each other so the SD version stays where it is.
