BBC Two SD is BBC Two Northern Ireland, BBC Two HD is a generic version across the UK at the moment, though there are plans afoot for the Nations to go HD.

I have to say HD is a joy to watch. So easy on the eye. So much less tiring.

No it should be on 110 where the UTV SD station was. You now will only have UTV HD and the SD is removed so it should be on 110

On my HD box, it is on 138.

Sorry I should have mentioned I have the horizon box. On it UTV HD replaces the SD space that was 110.

I think the issue with doing it with BBC Two is that Horizon doesn't just swap the HD and SD versions, it actually removes the SD version completely. So if this were done with BBC Two, NI-specific programming would be lost. The current position allows a choice of programming at least (e.g. recently there was a choice of Ulster v Edinburgh (NI SD) or Wales v Tonga (HD) during the November rugby internationals.

RTE1 HD didn't swap onto 101 on the Horizon box - presume this will happen soon??

Picture is pretty crap on it anyway, everything looks to be upscaled.

UPC only , I have taken a look at the listings on RTE and I have not come across any programmes in HD - movies/soaps etc are all listed as SD

i have the HD package, but not the Horizon box.

RTE1 HD on 135 and UTV HD on 138 are not appearing for me. The other Discovery channels have appeared.

What gives...?

Turning it off and on is the first thing customer care will suggest so do that!

You need to keep it on standby power to get epg updates or any software updates
If you power off fully ie unplug the power at night the box will end up most likely be not getting any updates

All UPC digital Boxes need to be left in standby mode if not in use
If fully powerd off as unplugged it may miss epg or software updates

He says I turn it off every night
If he been doing that as in full power off it will Miss epg and software updates until next update arrives

Most epg updates happen at night
UPC Digital Box like Sky Box need to be always left in standby mode or Eco mode as with Sky when not been used
