I was in Phil Grimes about a year ago, the cloth on the table wasn't the best at the time

I'd always recommend the Showboat, dart board too, drinks are a good price, think they do poker in there too.

Tom's a bloody nice lad, friendlier than many of the other idiots in the bars further up the road that throw drink across the counter at you, grab your money and throw whatever they feel like back at ye and ye might get a grunt in response!!!

Agreed, Tom runs a great pub and has given pub goers in a town a really nice option and change to the norm with all the craft beer he puts on how he changes it up every now and again.

Seems like you're in the minority gardner. Love Tom's approach to running a pub. Wouldn't put anyone off going there for any reason.

alot of the old regulars have left grimes due to toms running of the pub. shambolic at times..... closing bar early on sunday night so he can race on upto rubys for a few. the guinness down there is absolute muck. pub would be freezing down there, he was more interested in buring the rubbish in the fire than putting coal in it. he got fined 10k for piping the sky in from the house. when you uised to be a local you know and see these things.

used to be a great pub and but if put on the market today wouldnt be worth more than 220k. alot of work needs to be done to it after neglect over the years
