It's only 130BHP, that's pretty poor for a 2.4 liter 5 cylinder of that era (it's taxed as a 2.5, so even worse again)

If you want a V70, the 2l petrol is a far better choice for your motor tax dollars :D

It feels much more powerful then that when you put your foot down.

Just got my bangernomic car. 1995 Nissan sunny auto, 2 mnth test, 7 mnth tax, has elec windows and overdrive for the auto box, but that just makes it louder n thirsty! Pics to follow, badly needs a compound, 90s reds don't age well!

That's the turbo diesel torque ;)

Pretty poor at 280NM too, but a lot more than any N/A petrol car and available early in the rev range too.

All modern diesels are pocket rockets :D

Sweet, I think I know the car you are talking about.

Feels like they've dropped off the face of the earth over night, those Sunnys.

Well wear:) they were one of the most reliable cars in their class at the time and certainly one of the most reliable nissans made Imo. A better car than the almera that replaced it too.

yeah, was on donedeal during the week. It'll never win a beauty contest and its my first auto, but for what I need it'll be only in p r or d.

All in all should be grand, and I got change from 9 crisp 50 notes, taxed till June!

Be local runs till Dublin to cork on Christmas eve, then ill either love or hate it ;)

Can't think of much, although find out why it needed a new engine, and at 120k it would be due belts etc, arches on the polos used to rust, best of luck with it thou, looks well,

Will do, thanks. I'd only be keeping it for 3 or 4 months anyway. Just need something cheap with some nct to get me to and from work for a while and this looks to suit.

"only 183,000km on it":pac: that miles too not kms as the seller states.

    I was thinking 183k kms wasn't too bad :)

It isn't either :) That miles though I bet as that looks to be an Irish car rather than an import.

The car could still be fine though depending on how it was looked after.

    Eh.... it's 163bhp.;)

Ireland or the UK never even received the 130bhp variant.

Maybe the seller converted the mileage on it into km's? Unlikely I know but possible. A lot of people do work in km's now so maybe that was his logic. Still hate the blessed measurement myself though and I'm Irish not European, so I'll try to hold out as long as possible until the nazi's get their way with me....

This link shows you're probably right!

It states "The D5 engine develops 163bhp", no mention of any other versions of the engine

From 2002-2005, the sole D5 engine was the Euro III with 163bhp. In 2005 a Euro IV became available with 185bhp.

Someone said earlier this year that we'd get them in here by 2014. Good call!

Wasn't that about the E60 BMW?

TTs have been in here before iirc...

Could have been both! I definitely remember E60's being mentioned too, I wouldn't say 'till the middle to end of next year though.

Wasn't there an e60 in here a while back?
If not it can't be long now till the early 530i models are bangernomics candidates.

I'm open to correction but I think that was a fixer upper model. Pretty sure it had a few issues if I recall correctly. The general consensus was to steer clear of it anyway

At this time of year, they're still fetching over €4000 so it's a while off yet.
