In the airport now waiting for my flight over for the annual trip to Sandown. Gutted that SS doesn't run, but just means I'll go extra hard on the beer over there tonight to console myself!!

Time to back Spain @ 8's me thinks. They're being priced simply on the fact that a team's unlikely to win 4 major tournaments in a row and the lack of a European winner in South America. Looking at their squad though, it's better than ever and certainly better than the favourite Brazil's. They've serious young midfielders coming through in Martinez, Xisco etc and the best strike-force they've had since starting their winning sequence. Negredo and, the Brazilian recruit, Costa are beasts and should give them an edge upfront which they haven't had before.

The Confedreations Cup last year would put me off Spain. They were well beaten by Brazil in the final and werent impressive against Italy either.

They look a very tired side imo but a factor in having a bet is that in 1950 in Brazil only one player in the whole tournament was playing outside his country and that was Robeldo of Chile. The myth of Euro teams not winning in S A is a myth .Germany imo are miles best team in Europe and against Brazil are worth a punt.

That's part of the reason they're the price they are. Wouldn't place much emphasis on a end of season tournament though. Sure, they wanted to win it but they displayed all the signs of a team playing a few games too many. Given that most of their players are Barca/Madrid I'd say it's a valid enough excuse. I'd expect them to play much more compactly come the World Cup and Negredo blossoming at City and Costa's addition will see serious improvement, hopefully.

Can't meet Brazil until Final. Nice draw so far!

In fairness its a red hot race and to me he shapes like a horse that is best at 2m4. The King runner also looks a decent sort and cases could also be made for Hinterland.

Ah stop he hardly has no chance. He is only 5 and has bags of potential and is also the highest rated of these(albeit he is a second season novice)

Im telling you now hes no good doesnt have a prayer against any them tomorrow pig of a thing beat an under par grandeout, taquin de seuil will eat hinterland im sure of that.

I do like Taquin du Seuill. Im just not sure this is the best race for him. I do have a problem with how close The Romford Pele got to them that day and was subsequently beaten well by Wonderful Charm who wouldnt have an eartly of beating Hinterland over 2m or 2m4 Imo.
Do you give Baler Suces any chance? Him or Hinterland are the 2 i like for it tbh. Although i probably wont have a bet.

You do realise he was only beaten a few lengths by the horse you fancy for the Tingle Creek at this meeting last year? He's not the fashionable horse but he's definitely no no-hoper.

Think I'll side with Balder Succes. I know he's already had a fall over fences but he jumps lovely on the whole for a novice and 2m is definitely his trip. O'Neill seemed adamant after his last run that Tarquin Du Seuil had the speed for the shorter distance and it's significant he gets to run him over Nicholls Dodging Bullets but I'm not so sure. The race with Oscar Whiskey was a joke of race too.

Went to a staff party before but it was a summer one, I had a summer job and was a kitchen porter when I was 16. Anyway, it was on a boat! Free bar + Boat = Sick over the side while boss watches.

Last of The Mohicans starting on channel 5.

I always remember watching it as a young lad and the brother driving me demented by pausing the moment Day Lewis opens yer mans skull open with the big hatchet in the massive war scene just as he's about to scalp Madeleine Stowe.

    "I WILL FIND YOU!"

    And Magua, what a villain!

You go to the gym to eat shedloads of food?

I am trying to bulk up and drop some fat at the moment but not getting a wink of sleep so muscles getting bigger and belly slowly disappearing, sleep is key. Very hard getting the correct amount of protein in.
