I know but im going to get around 3k for my car from the insurer and this will be easy to run.
Its not so much i want to end up spending only 1k on a cheap car i still want to maintain some standard.
He originally had it up for 4000 but rizzee got an identical one with 50 odd thousand miles for 3400 so i was thinking 3ish myself

I understand uou want to keep running costs down but I'd be fooked if I was getting in to a Punto after the 3er. Would ya not prefer an MX-5? Should pick one up handy for that money. ;)

Or get one like Cian Ryan's?

thing is though ive wanted a Punto of that shape since it came out. It really doesnt bother me going down to a Punto tbh once all the creature comforts are there for the most part.
If i was getting an MX5 itd have to be the 1.8 which costs nearly 700 to tax and costs 400 more than the 325 did because its a vert. Also, and a big reason is, I dont think id feel particularly safe in one even if the 2002- have a 4star ncap

    So fight your corner.

Get it all in writing and be ready to argue the toss.

It's money better in your pocket. Drop me a line when you have their proposal and we'll go back with a counter offer :D

Everyome saw the weather and decided to stay in bed like me :D

On the punt note, lovely looking little cars. The only one of that model I ever drove was my driving instructors so can't tell you what they're like to drive! They do come with some pretty tragic spec but that one looks ok (still no climate control though). I would say that price wise you should be able to get it for 3,250 but who really knows until you make an offer :)

My sister has one,i've drove it a good bit. It's like if you had open fire but couldn't afford a coal box so you made one out of paper masche but then somehow you got a real coalbox, but you were so proud of your paper masche one you didn't want to destroy it, so you took those wheels and seats and old PC power cables you had lying around and decided to make a toy car for the kids. Then one day this dodgy looking Italian was walking past and he seen it, he introduced himself as Sergio Marchionne the boss of FIAT but you thought he was a jockey or something, anyway he said he wanted to buy the paper masche car from you and turn it into a road car. You told him he was mad but said it was worth a 'punt' ... What is this a word 'punt' he replied?? I like a this word i will call the car punto. That's what it's like to drive one. :D

I arrived at about 09:10hrs in Blanch expecting it to be jammed, wasn't.... Pecks lane, no traffic.... Phoenix park, clear..... The rest had traffic you'd expect to see at 07:00 hrs.... Apart from that street the swan is on all clear and moving!

Will halfords matt black paint in a can work for painting an intercooler black ?

Don't want to gimp its heat transference

Meh :( went satin black on wheels and wish I went matt or gloss black tbh

I was under the impression matt paint works better on radiators and intercoolers as it helps to get rid of heat faster.

Will buy special rad paint of I have to. Just happen to have a full can of the halfords stuff in the shed.

When I'm reassembling my Pug I'll be experimenting with a side mounted cooler. As in behind the foglight, not mad max style :p

No need for paint and going to see if it makes a difference, standard cooler is **** to say the least

If i were you invest in water injection if you want to move heat away faster
