Hi - bring the kids to Dublin this weekend for a night for relative visiting. They have never seen Dublin at Christmas and I was wondering where the best Christmas light displays are to be seen ? Even suggestions for a drive around on Saturday night would be good - I know there are a few houses with great light displays - any areas to look ?

The GPO has a lovely display inside with a nice big tree, crib and lots of lights.

Whereabouts in Dublin will you be? There is a gorgeous house decorated for Christmas around Artane with complimentary little Christmas story books etc for the children.

There is a house in Bath Avenue Dublin 4 (called Mr Timms I think) that he sets up every year for charity.

The lights on Grafton Street (the chandeliers) are so beautiful, the lights on the surrounding streets are lovely too.

Henry Street lights are great, probably more child friendly than the Grafton Street ones and the Arnotts Windows are great - circus themed!

While the tree and crib on O'Connell St are nice there are very few lights along the street itself which is always a little disappointing.

Would it be really creepy if we started posting pictures of people's light shows that they've garnered their houses in? Being originally from Cork, the best part of Christmas was driving around Gurrannabraher and most of the Northside! *-*
