I think we should start hammering IFA and local government TDs in our respective areas to open a window for slurry spreading over the next 10 days and extend the Jan 15 closing date by 10 days to balance it. The argument for opening it should be on environmental and carbon footprint grounds. Conditions are perfect and uptake would be very good with no run off certainly in this area, environmental. Also because uptakes would be good it should reduce the need for artificial fert in the spring, carbon footprint. And with less damage being done to the land by machinery you will have better uptakes of fertiliser by uncompacted ground now and next year not to mention more efficient use of machinery with no delays due to bogging down in waterlogged fields more carbon footprint. I'm going to make a few calls at any rate.

But in dry areas where where it would be really suitable to spread slurry now, animals are only in a few days. There's F all slurry in tanks around here at the moment.

I'll be off fishing with the likes of Redzer then!

Yerra im ready to throw in the towel, getting fed up of fruitless pike trips and all the sea fish are gone for the winter bar big dirty congers.

Fruitless pike trips? Jaysus you should come up this way. Annual pike competion is held here round this time every year.
Was out last week and got a 12lb one off the pier.

I think it gets better the further inland you go alright, wouldnt mind a 12lb pike at all. Best fish I have caught to date was a 25lb conger, angry creature it was too!! What kind of a yak you getting?

I would have a freak attack if I caught a conger. Do you keep the edible fish, pollack and the like? I'm thinking a Dagger Axis 105 but not sure yet. I really like the sea kayaks but it would be kind of a waste in he lakes, unless I took it on a journey.
It's either that or a heifer........but I can't go fishing off a heifer round the lakes!

Just keep a few pollack and mackeral. Have brought a few bass home that were deep hooked and werent going to make it but feel a bit guilty keeping them. Everything else goes back. I was the same way when I was buying mine, was a bit hard to hand over the cash for it now that I think back !! I have a trident 13, big bear of a thing but I still havent managed to turn it upside down :D

Why....why would you practice in March! You must have a frostbite wish:pac:

Anyone questioning why Bob was on that website, or am I on my own there :)
