    Hi all,

So the car has only ever gotten reception in Dublin... I'm not sure if it's a snob or what the story is , but once we drive past Lucan it picks up nothing!

Has anyone seen this before. It's been like that since we got it, but it's only annoying me now! Is it just a really weak aerial? ('04 Octavia 1.6l)

Sounds like the aerial isint working at all (loose connection probably) and the stereo is only picking up stations in very high signal areas (it's possible). Can you pull the stereo out and check the connections?

What car is the radio in and is it the original radio for that car?

It's in a 1.6 Octavia Ambience. Think it's the original stereo, but will pull it out later and check the connections.

Prob a bad connection to the aerial alright. But one other thing to try is see if there's a setting for DX/LOC or similar. If there is and it's set to LOC (or local or similar), set it to DX and see how you get on. This is a sensitivity setting in the radio and might fix your problem.

Long Wave? Luxury. Around here we are still on Morse Code.
Oh, alright then, some stations are on a slightly different frequency "down the country", I suppose you've tried scanning up and down the band?
