Hey all, just looking to see if anyone has heard about this or not:

Basically I'm considering trying to set a predictions competition (website) up for next year.

I think remember seeing another website cancel a predictions competition as a result of the GAA contacting them. Something regarding the publishing of GAA results not being allowed without permission.

I was wondering if any rule/ban like this exists? I can't find any mention on gaa.ie... or even who to contact to check if this is the case!?

Go raibh míle maith agaibh :)

My humble opinion: I don't think there is any difficulty using 'publicly' available information - whether its GAA, Hurling or blow football.
Where I do foresee a issue would be with a gaming licence - it might be considered gambling

    Even without prizes?

I doubt I have the time or patience to make a commercial effort at a predictions website. But I'm going to try for my group of friends, then perhaps open it if anyone else wants to join in!

Prediction leagues already there, you can set up your own mini leagues as well with family, friends, work.
