Just for savings - found them helpful & very easy to deal with - everything done online.

I have a current account and a few savings accounts with them. I have never had a problem. Customer care is excellent and they recently introduced on line banking which was quite minimal but has improved a lot recently.

That's brilliant.. And do you have a debit card with them or do you have to go into them for money?

They provide a MasterCard Debit card which also doubles as an ATM card. You can set up direct debits and standing orders. You can do online funds transfers to Ireland and any country in the SEPA area. They also have a mobile app. It's basically as fully functional as any other current account. They do not have a credit card facility yet.

The only drawback is that they do charge quarterly maintenance fees of €6.00 per quarter AND €0.30 per ATM transaction.
You do get free ATM transactions (but not maintenance fees), if you maintain a balance of at least €2,000 each and every day in the quarter.

No bank is now offering completely free current account banking any more. PTSB, Ulster, EBS and AIB will give you free banking, but only if you meet certain criteria of either maintaining a minimum balance or making specific lodgements each month.

If you want a current account PTSB is a better option if you can lodge €1,500 a month. No need to pay at least €24 a year with KBC.
