I'm wondering if anyone can help me out and tell me what the craic with failing exams in final arts is on the first sitting. I'm really unprepared for some of my exams and I'd like to know what exactly happens if I fail some. Also how does repeating in august end up affect you final degree?

Repeats aren't capped, know plenty of people who deferred til August. Might be your best option, or just fail on purpose.

Are ya sure it's the same for the final year of arts? that'll be a big relief if it is.

Just finished Arts myself and my modules had no-cap repeats. I'd be almost certain it's the same for the whole Arts discipline.

I did arts in NUIG, there is no cap on the number of repeats you can take. Also a friend of mine failed his final year by not submitting compulsory course work and is returning in September after spending a year in Oz. They are allowing him to submit said course work and retake an exam he actually passed because it was unusually low relative to is other grades. I find NUIG are very approachable in al cases, just speak to the relevant bodies.
