From what I have heard it'll be weeks / months before they are widely available, Triax link-kits work pretty good as an alternative.

Thanks Steveon. Tried urlan etc no joy. Got onto sky and they were they had the usual unhelpful story so cancelled the install out if pure frustration. Probably better off as system in house ain't straight forward and they may make a balls of it all.

You're in Limerick area from what I can see. Are you interested in some work on my set up to get Sky HD/multiscreen working the way I want it? I'm in Cratloe area.

Just on 1/o link with sky hd. my sister has one ordered but not sure when its going to arrive, but slightly related. Would it be possible to run a wireless sender off the scart socket also. the i/o link doesnt use it so it should be? Can anyone confirm and could anyone reccomend a good wireless sender to get to the TV upstairs?

Wireless senders are hit and miss and I wouldnt recommend any, a better solution if you cannot get your hands on an I/O Link is a triax tri-Link, it will allow you to run a cable from the scart to the second room and you can change it with a magic eye supplied with the kit.

I got the new SKY plus HD box about 10 days ago and a TV Link box which was attached to the box and connected to the Magic Eye, all lights are on but I cannot change the station on the upstairs TV, had the installation come out and look at it and as it is new to the market he can't figure out why it won't work. The upstair remote is working as I have tried it on the downstairs TV and all lights are on. Just wondering if anyone has had this problem.

    Thanks.

Make sure the rf power is switched on, it will still light up even if it isnt turned on. Once all connections and power are set, take the power out from the wall and once it reboots it should be working.

All this has been done and still nothing - i can get the picture on the screen upstairs but i just can't change the station, would have to run up adn down stairs each time I wanted to change the station !

If you disconnect the tvlink from the upstairs tv aerial input, can you then change Sky box channel via the "eye"?

If that has no effect, what about the location of the IO link: is it close to other equipment, maybe it & the Sky box sitting on top of a DVD player or something?

The DVD player is sitting on top of the SKY box and the link is also on top of the SKY Box, the DVD player is a small one. Will try removing the DVD player, I have the two cords from TV link box lined up with the SKY box.

When I referred to "tvlink", I meant the device the "magic eye" connects to at the upstairs tv.

The device at the Sky box is the "IO link" (although both are branded tvlink).

Just power off the DVD player completely, no need to remove it. Take the IO link off the top of the Sky box.

What do you mean by 'lined up with the Sky box'?

there are two cords with what are similar to "magic eye" at the bottom which i was told need to be lined up or looking at the green light on the sky box - the installer did this.

That isn't the Global IO link: must be something like the Triax Tri-Link?

Only 1 of the IR emitters needs to be used for the Sky box. Using both is probably delivering a distorted signal.

there are two TVs upstairs so I assume one for each TV.

No, the emitters downstairs would be to control 2 separate pieces of equipment at the downstairs TV, on any sensible kind of system like the Tri-Link anyway.

I notice there is now another provider of the I/O Links by labgear. About time as they are well overpriced units.

Was aware triax were releasing a version but knowing them it will be more expensive, more manufacturers the better to drive down the cost for end user :-)

We got a delivery of the Global ones at work today, and they seem to be a bit cheaper this time compared til our last order in November (they seemed very scarce through December).

You did better than me so, and I tried various supply channels.

Seemed a bit of a shame that the new revision Skybox was released without enough supply of the iO Links, but these things happen, I guess.
