Rant: People singling out and blaming an individual when a team loses. Either the team gains more points than the opposing team, or the opposing team gains more points than them. New Zealand, the team, succeeded yesterday, inspite of Crudens misses.

When a team doesnt get a score in the second half you cant expect to win against the best team in the world, thats a team problem

I understand what he/she is trying to say but not in the correct way.

Maybe your only as strong as your weakest link any minute of a game.

I'm not gonna get into any deep argument about it here...must keep the spirit of the thread alive!

I can see it now!!! A group of skinny runner/internet dudes standing around in the palace bar sipping pint of beers and shandy. Suddenly, a glass comes flying through the air hitting blockic (the only underage drinker in the bar) in the head. And with that AuldManKing marks his entrance ;)

Be warned there are some bold words in AuldManKing's entrance ;)

Voting for the boards beers 7th December option..... When I said it to mrs g over the weekend that I would be away that night she subtly reminded me with a closed fist that her birthday was 7th December.

You'd think I'd know it by now :(

Rant: This bloody running is a dangerous thing :(.

So I'm out for my lunchtime run, perfect running weather, legs not too bad considering my recent lack of opportunity to run. In fact, I get to the stage where I'm absolutely having a blast and try for a little of this 'eyeballs out' thing I've been reading about around here (well by my standards anyway). Round the corner near work, about 50 meters to go and there's 2 people on the footpath. Now I could slow down to get round them but I'm having fun so I step out onto the road to pass them. Next thing I know I'm flat out, blood pumping from my nose and very woozy. What I thought was my tooth turned out to be a bit of grit though. Sitting here now with a nicely swollen nose, the beginnings of two black eyes and steri strips across a nice gash on my nose.

To make matters worse I didn't even get to stop my watch and I'm sure my time was good  Was having such a good time I was even contemplating raving about it - that will teach me !

I'm really sorry to laugh but that's one of the funniest stories I've heard in a while...perhaps best to save "eyeballs out" to a race :D

I'd say you made those lads day though!

    (Hope you feel better soon!)

What actually happened though, did one of those people hit you a dig as you went by or did you just faint?

I'm probably lucky to still have eyeballs ;) In fairness they were very nice - must have looked a bit dramatic with all the blood because they wanted to call an ambulance . Two lads came out of their work with a first aid kit & patched me up - mortified !

Not sure to be honest - deffo no digs - must have stumbled or tripped or something. Happened so fast I didn't even get my hands out to break the fall so the nose took the brunt of it !

Rant update - ffs broken nose & two stiches later will think twice before eyeballs out again :(

Rant: Rebel Sport in Melbourne only stocking a limited range of sports watches/ stop watches, the cheapest being $80, all with heart rate monitors, GPS's, maps, cameras, torches and whatever other fads! Can not believe how hard it is to find a normal, run of the mill, well made stopwatch which is not chunky! I lost my old one mysteriously, which I have used for years, and I can't find anything anywhere which resembles it! :(

Rang up Running Fit, a running shop in the city and they informed me that they sell no non-GPS watches! They start from $140!

Everything is geared towards fun runners or long distance runners. You really have to be motivated to be a sprinter in this day and age!
