I just flew with them to London and back on Thurs and Sat and they were brilliant as usual. I have never had hassle with them. While queuing to get on in Dublin the guy in front of me had his cabin bag and a bag of duty free and I, having not heard about them changing things, was waiting for the lady at check in to berate him and make him put it in his bag, but she never even blinked at it.

Furthermore, a poor wee woman in her 60's or so came up to the desk and asked the same attendant what she could do coz she couldnt find her boarding pass. She said her husband had his but she couldnt find hers. The Ryanair staffer calmed her down lovely and proceeded to write up a new pass for her saying "things like that happen to us all". Couldn't have been nicer.

I think that people give Ryanair too hard a time and as others have said you just need to follow their few simple rules and treat it like a bus or taxi trip. I couldn't have afforded to give my 16yr old the "best birthday present ever" only for Ryanair (a trip to the Doctor Who Celebration Event in London) and as a broke single parent student, wouldn't have been able to visit my best friend or sister in London and Edinburgh respectively in the past few years without them.

Bless you Ryanair and long may you fly.

What I always hated about the announcements on the plane was the choice of person on the mic.

Instead of choosing the mild mannered Irish girl on the flite , they pick the horrible toned girl from eastern Europe who has a chip on her shoulder and shouts like Hitler raising the troops.

I hope they can attract more Irish workers on board as well. It being an Irish company and all.

From the punter side of things, there will always be debate. From the operational side of things, I hear they have run out of standby pilots this month for certain parts of Europe and had to get them in from elsewhere. I hear also that the company they use for pilot employment is losing legal battles in such a left, right and center fashion that it may have to open up offices in each country they work out of to legalise their operation, the French have been looking at confiscating aircraft due to illegal operations. Profit warnings coming after confirming an order of 150 odd planes where only 50 or so are to replace older aircraft is an issue as recruitment from other airlines may mean that there are no pilots to fill them such is the exodus of staff to other carriers. There may be an issue with pilots coming in, leaving due to bad treatment before they even remotely approach captain status so the airline cant add to or replace captains as required.

Allegedly of course, this is just what I get from various grapevines but the next 5 to 10 years is meant to be a very interesting chapter for the airline.

Has anyone flown with Ryanair very recently?
Thing is, it was quoted in a newspaper that FROM 1 DECEMBER you can carry a handbag along with the carry on wheelie bag.
BUT on the website it just says:

    "CABIN BAGGAGE

One cabin bag per passenger* weighing up to 10kg with maximum dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm,
    plus 1 small bag up to 35 x 20 x 20 cms."

    NO DATE!!!!

Help... I'm flying on Friday (29th) and would love to have my handbag with me (not hidden on my person, like last year!)

    Thanks.

Have just received this in an eMail from R.Air....flying tomorrow.

    Important information regarding cabin baggage
    info.jpg
One cabin bag per passenger (excluding infants travelling on their parents lap) weighing up to 10kg with maximum dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm, plus 1 small bag up to 35 x 20 x 20 cms. info.jpg
Please check your bag complies with the size and weight restrictions before going through airport security.
    info.jpg
Due to cabin space limitations only 90 cabin bags (55 x 40 x 20 cms) can be carried in the cabin, any remainder will be carried free of charge in the aircraft hold.
