I didn't want to point that out to him :-)

    13 pts behind now.
I'll take in the 2nd half of the rugger now. Though I rarely watch it.

going for the penalty with 5 mins left was nuts I taught before he kicked it. Only way to beat good teams is to not give them the ball to start with. Ireland must have given them the ball 3 or 4 times in the last few minutes, good teams will thank you for such courtesy

I bricked myself each time we kicked in the second half.
I always felt we would lose but with a quarter to go I changed my mind that said the last five mins lost it real pity.

Of course as a Munster man you're secretly happy??

I was born with the old chip on my shoulder, pity for Ireland, you dont get those chances at beating the Kiwis often

It is the case that, in any team sport, the best shine through right at the death, be it hurling, football, soccer (girls game), or rugby.

8 up wit 5 mins to go. Thats not nuts it was game over if he got it. It was an easy kick for johnny but that's pressure it got to him he never takes that long to take a penalty

Just leaving Dublin now after the match fairly sick will never get a better chance to beat nz

Don't think pressure got to him one bit ,it's his bread and butter after all.he came into the game not 100% fit and was noticeably limping before the penalty and then strained it whilst kicking.heartbreaking result .why can't we play to that level every game is the question I'd ask.to think we had guys like gilroy, earls,Zebo, ferris et all injured.the future is bright under Schmidt.

5 points was more than enough to win the game. If he had got the kick, game restarts and ball is on Irish 22, quick penalty and its 5 in front, with the restarting kick off being returned to the NZ. Ireland didnt need 8 points to win the game. Simple kick, but missed - I dont lay the blame on Johnny, but winning a game by not scoring in a half is nearly impossible

There are many ways to look at it but for me they looked wrecked in the second half and if your within 7 of nz your never safe. Ireland came into this game way under the radar and I fear it will be a while before we get as close again
