I assume it's squeezing (burdizzo) as opposed to cutting?
The only injection I saw being used when squeezing bulls is an antibiotic.

The Tribovax mentioned above needs to be done before squeezing I think.

As regards sedation: I've squeezed hundreds and never had to sedate one yet. Had to tie up a couple in my time alright!

    Penicillen is what we use.

under quality assurance you have to give an anastethic to anything over 6 months. we always give them alamycin 300 at the rate of 1ml per 10 kgs gives them 5 days cover

Alamycin 300 is an antibiotic as opposed to a anastetic.
Antibiotic would be for to prevent infection.
Anastetic would be to take away the pain of the castration process and would only last a few hours.

I assume the local anaesthetic goes into the cord or that general area?
Seems like a good way to get a kick.

I wouldn't like to be trying to get in under the skin on any of them three sites. Particularly the one with the loosest skin:P
