    Because people immediatedly give out about the band instead of thinking how good it might work out for Mullingar and their other musicians.

    I see they're also putting up a statue of Niall Horan in Mullingar town centre. It has a problem though. It keeps leaning in one direction.

    Who is funding it? If it's a private busines venture who cares? If it's council funded is it worth it?

    Have no interest in ever visiting the place but each to their own.

    I don't care for one direction - though I think their music is catchy at worst - but ignorant comments like that make me laugh. even if you have zero interest, you'd have to be a total cave dweller to not have heard of one direction. their 'level of fame' is massive.     But why is criticising something always necessary? We've almost convinced ourselves that we're not a nation of begrudgers at this stage but maybe we're just safer at picking our battles.

    Because boy bands are a manufactured product,packaged and served in a shiny container.

    That is going to remain so with or without the museum. At least with the museum some of the other musicians who didnt get overnight fame can benefit and some money can be made for the country.

    Don't know about the museum but fair play to him and the rest of them. You can make your jibes about them eventually falling into obscurity but at the end of the day, they're already made for life (bar any Shane Filan type-silliness with their money).

    I hate Niall horan and his stupid band and everything they stand for, but i hate Irish Begrudgery even more, so i'm all for this for that reason alone.
