These are just art students in general, I was being facetious in my description, but I should add that there is a difference between most art students and most NCAD students. The latter being a lot more pretentious. I know some lovely people from NCAD, but they all agree the people on the whole are incredibly pretentious, probably due to NCAD's admissions policy more than anything...

Righto Im just goin on well Im going to study Arts next year, my sister is doing it this year and well we are country folks, well she is a bit of a douche but not to the level of Performing arts which is where the real head wreckers are, my general opionion is anyone wanting to study Drama or Fashion is a pretentious twat, obviously though not all

From what I can gather from people I know of who went there, the more out there the ideas in the portfolio are, the better, regardless of actual substance. Some were fantastic artists, some incredibly poor artists, but the more outside the box the ideas are the more likely they'll get accepted. A lot of the time, they're purely outside the box for the sake of being there. Of course, there are plenty who are great at what they do.
