I asked more or less the same question here a while back and was advised to add some soya bean meal to the nuts to increase protein ......it made a huge difference it turned weanlings in side out after about 2 weeks

Is soya bean meal available in 25kg bags or does it have to be purchased in bulk?

I use it when feeding the weanlings the protein is great for helping with their growth, about 10/1 mix I was told will increase the protein 2%...

A weinling will eat 6kg dm. 15% of which should be protein. 900 grams. Say 4 kg dm silage @ 12%p= 480g. 1.5kg meal@ 14% = 210. Half kg soya= 250. 480+ 210+250=940. So a little less than half a kg of soya will suffice. A lot of silage is less than 10% protein this year to be accurate you should get a test done.
