    Most overly PC thing I have ever seen was this one thread on boards.ie where someone claimed to be threatened with rape on the basis that the supposed rapist didn't agree with her and obviously therefore wanted to rape her.

    Get it straight, Dave. My main problem (aside from the threats and name calling) is the fact that you say Sweden is "****ed up" because brave women spoke out against rape and sexual assault. Note that - you didn't denigrate Sweden over its high incidence of violent sexual assaults against women. No, it was the women who reacted to the state of affairs you have a problem with.

    I don't think you're loony, it really is horrible when someone uses "I feel threatened with rape" as a defence as soon as they get proven wrong on a few points. How someone with any morals could use such a serious accusation as a defence over loosing a simple discussion is beyond me.

    It backfired on him. I reported him to the mods for calling me a rapist and he received an infraction. Of course it wasn't a rape threat. It was a joke. At worst, I could be accused of being edgy.

    There have been some good points made by both sides, I think it is wrong to just dismiss one side completely without providing any evidence as to why they are wrong.

    Arguments on boards seem to work on the premise that if you are proven wrong you move on and use a completely different statement to back up your original point and just ignore anytime where you realise you are wrong.
