A CEX opened up loacally so I had a look, picked up some things.

No power supply with the HD DVD drive, so might be returning it. I did give it a good clean as it was filthy and looked like someone spilled food on it. Evil dead is the special edition which includes the Evil Dead 2 DVD. Groovy!

Behold! The 1084s, otherwise known as the lovely Commodore monitor which doesn't like syncing over RGB with consoles.

    Well not anymore :)

The picture is glorious. My crappy photos do it no justice.

There's something really lovely about playing on a little 14 inch monitor, reminds me of the Telefunken TV I had for my MD when I was a kid. Certainly didn't have RGB at the time though!

Hats off to The Last Bandit who persevered and didn't smash the thing in every time the picture continued to roll after building a new cable :D

Got a few games from Japan and a new cp for the cab from a lad on AO via parcel motel. It worked out at 60 euro for the games with post, about the same cost of a new release these days.

I've never seen an Astro panel with a Neo Geo layout like that - really interesting to see.

Ah Steambot. That game has so much charm. It's a wonderful little sandbox world as well, a real sandbox as well.

I ordered a copy of XII Stag for my PS2 there, only about six euro posted to Ireland, I'm missing it from my days as a Gnet owner. It's definitely too good to pass up at that price.
I was going to preorder Mario 3d World for the WiiU but I'm going to stick it in the Santa letter instead, see what happens!

Just bought a promo copy of Adventure Time: Explore the Dungeon Because, I don't know for €26 on fleabay, for the lads Xmas stocking, reckon that'll be a hit, also going in will be the Pikmin keyring that arrived from Club Nintendo, and within two weeks of ordering as well, amazing!!

Lots of GET's recently. These arrived in the post:

    FA14201A-461C-4C65-8BE5-9825F2E60F41_zpsnxs5lotn.jpg

Haze, Wild wild racing, a 256MB memory card for the 360 and tetris all cost about a tenner in total, posted. Fond memories of playing wild wild racing on a demo disc when the PS2 was just released. Although I'd say paying it now it'd be a case of rose tinted spectacles. Also didn't own a copy of tetris on the GB and the Japanese version was cheaper than a PAL one.

Wild wild racing, wasn't that a launch game along with Wreckless, on the GC and the Xbox?
A fun game alright, not as unwieldy and large as Baja.
You have my sympathies for buying Haze.
I hope you spare yourself the misery of playing it!

It's still going grand, picked up a j-pac a short while back off Myrddin and have to start sorting out a pc. Cidermans set up running hs looks real tidy.
I think it would be the way to go so that I could get most use from the cab, I'm running a multicart at the moment, mvs stuff runs fairly well but a fair few other games to me would be unplayable.:(

I didn't really need it either as the one that's on the cab is more or less brand new but I never saw one with that layout. It reminded me of Oisin's cab, I only have space for the one cab so it will change the look if I ever feel the need to rotate the monitor. That lad is sound on AO, I got a dc pad hack off him too and he has no bother sending things to parcel motel.

Two things in Parcel Motel this morning
The new Adventure Time game on the PS3, a promo copy.
And my Ntsc N64, no leads or controllers but that's ok, everything is swappable from my Pal console.
Now I can have a blast on Kirby 64 at last.
Also, it's had it's tabs removed so it can play both US and Jap games.
So, whats the story on RGB with this bad boy?

You need to get it modded for RGB and you'll have to check your model, some later models don't support it. It does however support s-video out of the box which is good enough.

Agreed, I was all set to get cracking RGB modding my US N64 until I seen the svideo picture, it's more than good enough for me & pretty damn close to RGB quality

Excellent, I'll ask Santa to bring me a Svideo cable so, along with Mario 3d World!

Make sure your TV can digest a NTSC signal first, if the standard composite AV cable gives you a colour picture then you're sorted.

No, we're laughing there, the tv copes with all regions as it is.
I hope to pick up the rumble enabled jap release of Wave Race 64, and I can only imagine the Ntsc release of Pilot wings 64 is smoother as well.
So, what should I be buying for my new N64?

Got this gorgeous little thing in the post today.

    DSC_0514_zpsc9f11bf4.jpg

I don't know how Cools on AO did it, but it's identical to the real Taito ones!

    Same manufacturer, both E-19 models.

In my haste to by one (they were a really limited one off) I completely forgot there was no space on the control panel!

    DSC_0520_zps9d81ebc3.jpg

    Oh well, this'll do :D

I have the pal edition which is, presumably, optimised, and I always liked it. So much so I finished it.
Other than that I'll test my Pal titles via the Passport, see if there is any improvement running the on an Ntsc machine.

I logged onto my club Nintendo account for the first time in ages, and saw that I had 2500 stars that I'd forgotten about. So I went through all my unregistered 3DS and DS games, redeemed the stars and ended up with 5150, so Went ahead and ordered the game and watch collection for the DS. Hopefully it does arrive. I hear Nintendo are awfully slow to get things out.

I got a Pikmin keyring for my son as part of his Santa haul, it arrived from Ninty within 2 weeks, Now I have a feeling that there is a depot of stock in Europe but other items come from Nippon, it would explain why it took a lot longer for Game&Watch Ball to get here.
