Trying to upgrade an old (now virtually unusable) custom built bought off DoneDeal.

We're not sure of all the specs, but here's what I can gather:
    Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core
Graphics Card: AMD ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series (not sure which specifically)
    Power Supply: Alpine 500W
    4GB RAM

The main problem is the mass overheating and loud noise issue. It's why we had to get rid of it in the first place. Turns a room into a sauna.
I understand I'll need fans, so any recommendations on which would be great. I suppose I'll need more RAM as well.
Have a rough budget of about 250e.

    UPDATE:
These are the new parts I'm hoping to buy-
    CPU: AMD FX6300 (originally AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core)
    MoBo: MIS 97OA-G43
Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO

    Leaving me with:
Graphics Card: AMD ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series
    Power Supply: Alpine 500W
    4GB RAM

    thoughts?
