Why has China not taken over the World yet?

    Often heard a lot of facts about China, such as the economy being a powerhouse and it having a massive military. It has a huge population, the biggest in the world at the moment I think, and probably the biggest industrial base in the world.

    So why has it not made its presence felt on the international stage? Perhaps it has done so in more subtle ways that I am not aware of, but surely they could take over Taiwan tomorrow if they wanted to?

    Chinas economy just over tool Japan's as the biggest. There is talk about the countries economy being a massive bubble. Plus it relies on feeding its people a **** load of lies and censors all foreign influence. Germany have a stronger export economy than it.

    If china is so amazing why does its people constantly try to move abroad?

    Taking over in such a scenario by military means is pretty much impossible in todays world imo. No country wants to engage in a nuclear war.

    I'd love to see them build one of those man made islands out in the middle of the atlantic, so big that it could be seen from space and the island would be shaped to say
    "MADE IN CHINA"
    If that happens in my lifetime I'll die happy.

    They're quietly taking over africa, eastern ussr and anywhere else that's a bit sh1t. Once they've cracked all that, they'll start with the shiny countries.

    I think the whole far east is going to either get along all great and everything or else it will very suddenly degenerate into mad megadeath war. China India Russia Philippines and all the rest bangbangbang.

    Problem with personalities maybe. A lot of Chinese companies are reliant on westerners in leadership roles.

    The Chinese know how to copy stuff. They do not show initiative.
    It wasn't always that way. The Chinese were very inventive down through the centuries but insular Emperors and Communism did not help.

    They'd love to balkanize Russia and China. The US funds and gives political cover for terrorists separatists in China and on the flanks of the Russian federation.

    Actually their military is tiny, proportionate to their population they have fewer soldiers than Ireland. The US have hundreds of overseas bases. China has one.

    Not really. They own some US debt. But their economy is very dependent on exporting to the developed world.

    Western paranoia.

    Back in the early 80's everyone thought the Japanese economy was going to gobble up the west. Obviously it didn't quite pan out that way.

    The Chinese economy will normalize eventually and endure the same cycle of growth/recession as the rest of the modern world.

    Thats why. They dont need land or resources and know its folly to start a war. Although they are buying up land in south america and africa.
