Not suprised in the big stores like Best Buy and the lax attitude they have, but over here there will be war and probably violence if that happens, with the size of our stores and the huge amount of pre orders.

yeah said he tried online couldnt buy it said sold out but they must have kept some for people that didnt pre order

dunno about all the fuss about the solus console, smyths said i will get mine just fine on release day. and 2 others places i spoke to, (one being game) said they are getting just as much solus consoles as they are bundles. as a few places are doing custom bundles using the solus. the game manager said it seems to be online retailers claiming lack of solus consoles, probably because they want more people picking up bundles. he said.

Rang my GS store to ask about the invitation only at midnight for PS4 launch. The girl I was speaking to didn't have a clue, she had to ask someone else, I heard the guy say they will be ringing people next week to let them know whether they will be able to collect at midnight or whether it's the following day.
That's if I heard him right.

That is what they are doing. It all depends on the size of the store and how many it can hold. They are beginning to ring around asking people if they want to attend.

No what I got from it is they are having a midnight launch but not offering everyone the chance to collect at midnight

I'm fed up of them at this stage, will just be getting my killzone bundle with them everything else I have ordered with Amazon.

I'd have thought more hysterical(the guy breaking the console being a prime example but I mean more in relation to Qing for things i.e Star Wars etc where people queue for weeks)
I saw a picture of people in Orlando Qing about 30 deep by 6pm their time at one shop.
So more people willing to queue should see a greater initial demand, if demand at its highest point can be met, then it can at it's weaker parts.

Also if people could pay at a 12pm launch in the US on only November 15th, I'm taking it Sony's supply's can hold up since the next launch isn't for 2 weeks.
They hardly stopped producing the systems before launch and if there was to be a shortage, the initial launch would hold the highest chance.

It's not that you guessed your information posted... but you posted them as pure fact.
And so far, the initial lack of reports that US were left disappointed haven't surfaced.

It's not as if it's the only console, a substantial amount will be buying the Xbox by preference or even because it launches here first. If the market was even 100% PS4 I'd still have doubts they'd run short.

Tretton said in the video posted yesterday they've sold something like 80 million PS3's and that's in 7 odd years now.
Did they not expect to ship 5 million PS4's over the next 4 months alone?.

My story so far:

Pre ordered the console in june from gamestop blanchardstown.

About a month later I was paying off some money on it and decided to add a second controller, camera and ghost to it which was all fine.

2 months ago the guy in gamestop suggested that I swap my order for the killzone megabundle which I did.

Went ib to the shop today and asked if I was in the midnight launch list, yes!!

Everyone who ordered a megabundle early will be able to pick it up first day.

They will be texting and phoning next week to unvite people up to the store. Doors will open at 10:30, no cash accepted, the green car park will be open with plenty of security.

Gonna go to the cinema to see gravity and them saunter on down to pick up my mega bundle and ghost.

All I need worry about is where will I get party cans of Heineken!!!!

Would that make much difference? As I said earlier having spoke to a few retailers earlier they all said the stand alone (Solus) won't be any rarer than bundle versions. If I have read your comment wrong then I am sorry.

Pretty much what I'm getting at. I lifted them out of it and escalated the issue. The got back to me apologising to me and saying they'll work on it.

Not impressed anyway, i think they're going to disappoint a lot of people for Xmas

Just paid off my launch day (it better be) Killzone bundle in Harvey Normans, told it was still 100% guaranteed launch day, they only took 91 preorders in total (600 across all 12 stores) and he showed me emails between the manager and sony confirming their stock so happy days, although he also said to pick it up early just to stop any messing with walk-ins. Probably won't be a midnight launch though
