    hi
Meself and herself are thinkin of getting married in France (place called Annecy in Haute Savoie) We were there last summer, loved it and neither of us want a big wedding. To avoid not insulting relations/neighbours/friends of family and co-workers we were thinkin of organising it for bout 50 people the summer after next. Has anyone any experience of weddings in France? would be grateful of any advice ye may have

It is very difficult for a non-resident to get married in France. Take a look on here; http://www.weddingsinfrance.com/requirements.html

Yep, as far as I can remember, a minimum of 30 days' residency in France prior to the marriage is required of at least one of the parties.

Have you considered having a civil ceremony here followed by a blessing in France (assuming that you want a religious ceremony)?

On the good side, if you do decide to go with it, the food and wine will be much, much better than the standard hotel fare here, and cheaper too.

    Hi MickKK,

Myself and my fiance are looking in having our wedding in Annecy, I found your thread when I googled! How did you find it? Was it difficult to organise? Any suggestions would be really appreciated!!

Would love to know how these weddings went, currently doing the groundwork for a French wedding in 2012... would really appreciate any guidance!

I'm trying to organise a wedding in France - has anyone gotten married there? I've been googling venues but it's so overwhelming! Would love to hear people's experiences!
