Overstocked Book

A friend of mine has a book that he brought out a couple of years ago. Sales have started to slow down now and while sales have been good he still has a good few left. It's costing in warehouse fees so he needs to get rid of some of them. He's thinking of having them destroyed, which is quite cheap actually. I was wondering if there was anything else that could be done with them? Has anyone any thoughts? It's a nature book and while he's based here the books are in storage in the U.S.

Drop the price? Bring it down to where the sale is cost neutral

Why is this in photography anyway?

Because it's a photography book. Maybe I didn't make that totally clear. It's a photography book about bears.
Thanks for replies, I'll look into options mentioned. Donating them to the library I had thought of so I'll need to look into it further.

    seems obvious to me but-
    charity shops
book store- call in and say you'll give them X copies for free if they want
twitter/facebook/wesbite- post I'm giving away my book for free
set up a table and sign & hand them out for free in town
    cubs, scouts etc.

Thanks Dinneenp. As mentioned, the books are in the U.S. Shipping costs to get them here are quite expensive. Destroying a pallet of books is the same price as shipping two books.

I'm sure there are community groups in the US who could make use of them.
