Experience BlackBerry Flow: features and apps work together seamlessly and share your train of thought to help you complete tasks faster and with ease
BlackBerry Hub: Stay close to what's important and keep everything that matters to you in one place
BlackBerry Keyboard: type faster and more accurately on a touchscreen keyboard that learns how you write
BBM with Screen Share: Catch up face-to-face and share what's on your screen
Camera with time shift: create the perfect shot by moving parts of your picture
At this price, I think the Z10 is worth buying if you're not too fussed about the apps situation.

Might want to check out the version. See the comments.
I have ordered this handset in the late of August. After used for a couple of days, I recognised that the Model Type is STL100-1.I then googled and results suggest that if the model type is STL100-1, that means this is a version that is designed specifically for Asia market. Okay, that is fine, I am in the UK, and got a phone with Asia version. This is not the point. The point is, STL100-1 does not support 4G at all! That is the only difference it has in comparing with another model STL100-2! I then decided to return it and get my money back!! That is the reason, I realised, that enables this seller, Take a bite, to sell it slightly cheaper than other sellers!!!!!! I then re-ordered a new one from Amazon, I mean, the seller is Amazon, not anyone else. Perfect, model type STL100-2, EU version with 4G ready to go!

Knowing that Vodafone and others are selling this for in and around €549 makes this latest price cut simply jaw-dropping.

Now we just need a price cut on the Q10 and then we'll in business. Not so much BlackBerry, but us. :D

I developed some apps for BB to get a dev phone off them. The Dev Alpha B was the developer version of the z10, it was running BB10.

It was really nice when you got used to it. Lack of apps maybe, but realistically how many apps do you use? Biggest issue for me was no Google Talk, which i use alot.

I also got a Dev Alpha C off them, which is the same but for a Q10. Haven't really used it though

Roughly €215 for this phone and it can run roughly 25,000 android apps? Count me in! Paycheque hurry up!! :P

Seems like a dead OS. Which makes it less of a bargain.

That's what they said when they killed off WebOS with the HP Touchpad and look how successful that became when they sold for cheap.

    Something about sandwiches

The TouchPad became popular because of the unlocked bootloader and the ability to completely wipe the OS and replace it with Android.

If this phone got access to the Play Store, which it may do, then it's decent enough. Without it, its missing some core apps that basically downgrades the phone to a step above a "feature phone".

What I'm saying is, hardware-wise its as good as any other smartphone, but let down by the current available apps....which MIGHT be addressed in the not too distant future.

I've had a Z10 for the last 5 months or so. I really like the device. All communications integrated into BlackBerry Hub is great. Not for everyone sure. A little interest in technology and researching how to use a device to its full abilities certainly helps. This is a communications device first, if you want a wide choice of horoscope apps best look elsewhere. But the majority of major apps are there.

The OH switched to a Z10 from an iPhone lately. She's very happy with it also. BBM Video between the devices is outstanding.

Looking at either this the Galaxy S3 or the Sony Xperia SP, currently have an iPhone 5 but I don't like it and I'd like to get out of the Apple ecosystem having already been in the Google one with my Nexus 7/S

I just think for 200+ you're into some very decent Android phones, with the full android support.

I love Blackberry phones, I've had several of them over the years and currently have the BB9900 for the last two years. I'm due an upgrade with e mobile and I was thinking of getting one of these. They're currently available on eMobile for between €0 and €189 depending on the plan you choose....

I'm wondering whether I should take the plunge or not or wait a few weeks to see if any sales come around.

I'm just worried that they're going to become obsolete, these latest phones were supposed to turn Blackberry around but they haven't and the whole future of the company is uncertain. My kids were big Blackberry fans as well, last Christmas when I was looking to replace one of them for my daughter I found it very difficult to find any Blackberry phones and in some of the shops they practically laughed at me for even wanting one, telling me I should go for any other smart phone instead.
Now my son has already switched to an iPhone as have most of his friends.
I love my BB9900 although I sometimes long for a bigger screen so I'd love the Z10 but I'm just a bit concerned about investing in a new BB while there's such uncertainty in the company....

If the rumours about Play Store access are true then this could be a great purchase. It has my interested just to try out the OS and i've got a HTC One already so no need for a new phone whatsoever.

If you're into tech then its already possible to sideload a lot of Android APKs onto the Z10. I'll be following this with interest for sure.

Sideloading with Chrome seems to be a good option, which doesn't seem too difficult.....

there is a Chrome App which does most of the work.....

    tutorial here:

Bar files, which are the converted Android apks, can be downloaded also:

    What we do

BB10Bars offers you a huge selection of popular Android apps that you can sideload to your BB10 device. We convert and host these apps for you, allowing you to download and sideload them for free.

We only offer free apps on our site because we don't want to harm the developers. If you want a paid Android app, contact the developers and ask them to port it officially.

They also offer their own sideloading tool, which is also capable of converting any apk to bar for use on BB10.....

    info below:
    What does it do?

The BB10 Sideloading Tool allows you to install .BAR files on your BlackBerry Z10, Q10, Q5 or BlackBerry PlayBook. With the latest release, you can also convert any Android apk file into a BlackBerry bar file and sideload it onto your device!

This all looks pretty exciting to me, I think I'm going to order one of these ASAP.

EDIT: Bar file Apps also available here:

I've got a Sammy S3, but never liked it, sooo I think I'll ditch it for this, good project!!

If I had your HTC One, I'd not be changing either!!!

How much could I get for a year-old S3?? I could sell it with a Samsung HDMI/MHL unit, which works fine, and 16G SD card.....and an Otterbox Case!!!

I had the qwerty Q10 version of this phone and side loading apps wasn't an issue. It's a nice (and underrated) operating system, blackberry hub is excellent and at that price it would blow any of the cheaper Android or Windows phones out of the water. I'm tempted to get one as a spare phone now.

    No it doesn't.

The Samsung Ativ S is a good bit cheaper than this phone, delivered from Amazon Germany, and its got very similar specs, and just as good, if not better phone in my opinion. Windows phone is a rapidly growing OS, where as WebOS is dead in the water.

So theres an option for people reading this thread.
