Anyone else remember the guy wrenching disappointment of being up early Saturday morning in 2 channel land waiting for tv to start only to be confront with reruns of the below, surely the worst childrens tv show ever .

Christ, that theme music actually sent shivers down my spine. Such a depressingly bleak show. In fairness to RTE, Wanderly Wagon, and later Dempseys Den were both great

Does anyone remember "The Flashing Blade" ? I think it used to come on between "The Banana Splits" and "Champion the Wonder Horse".

    Best theme tune EVER!!

Also, "The Black Arrow" on HTV.

    Anyone remember HTV? :o

    Grandstand 12:30 Saturday.
We got out of school at 12:25. Downhill one mile on the bike, turn on the telly, wait for it to warm up , and if Ma was in a good mood dinner on a tray.

The difference being that as children we could actually understand english, whereas when we were 5 years old we could barely ask for a cup of tea in irish.

X-men for me, have been watching it over the last few weeks with my son and the early seasons still hold up really well...think it was the first cartoon to have a season long arc too.

    Other shows I liked...

    Spider-man TAS
    V
    Captain Power
    Lois and Clark
    TMNT
    Transformers

    Ones I didn't like...

    Jayce and the wheeled warriors
    Ulysses
Legend of the city of gold

I loved the mysterious cities of gold!

    and Diplodos

    and Inspector Gadget

    The Raggy Dolls -

What a great message to kids! "Just to be whoever you are is no disgrace....Be like the raggy dolls, and say I just don't care!"

The Steve & Danny Show on TCC, Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles

    When I was a bit younger;

My Little Pony and Care Bears! And that Ewoks cartoon/film franchise!

They used to show reruns of Bewitched after school. I loved it.

There was also some bizarre one that I can't think of the name of. It was a bunch of superhero toys that were alive and...something about a toilet...

As a kid my favourite tv show would have to be "Battle of the Planets"

You do know that battle of the planets was the censored version of the Japanese show. The robot was added in to replace all the violent scenes.

    Still loved it though

    Freakazoid and Animaniacs.

Might just be the best intro to a cartoon ever!
