Hi boots... Yes to the floodlights ..seated stand.. And as regards pitch.. Being sand based.. It's in great shape considering the recent downpours..seems a logical option to park..

Is it good enough to host two games, considering Miltown are playing Munster club there this afternoon? Plus there is a lot of rain on the way today

A match being moved this late could only be from the Park to Clarecastle, which won't happen.
If it was off to Miltown then surely the decision would have to have been made last night to allow for time/change of journey etc.

    Put on ye're wellies

Match is going ahead in the park. Confirmed.

Miltown are up 6 points to 3 at half time against Currow and Currow are down to 14 men. Would be a great result for Miltown and the competition as a Kerry team have won the last 7 Munster intermediate football club championships

currow alomst got back into it but miltown deserved winners

should be a good final i would not write off miltown against clyda

cleary seems a good player done the damage in the first half

Any news ballypooren game as the winners play clyda next week?
I agree at this grade no team is unbeatable but its easier to win than going to kerry and winning.

Opens it up now, love clyda to win it .

Doubt he even gave it a second thought, the all stars are completley irrelevant these days and the Celtic Cross in his arse pocket is all that matters.

I know condition were very bad but he didn't have the best of games today. I don't know if it affected his game but I do think that winning an all star is more coveted than you think

An excellent 2nd half performance by the Bridge saw them capture the Canon on a 1 10 to 11 scoreline.

Newmarket led by 2 at half time 09 to 1 04. Their only 2nd half scores came in a quick flurry with approx 10 mins remaining.
At HT it didn't look too promising for the Bridge having hit a few too many wides wind assisted. In the opening period Nemarket were more economical with possession.

2nd half was a quality display of hounding and harrassing by Sixmilebridge. Time and time again a Newmarket player was clearing the ball aimlessly under pressure which resulted it coming straight back. Bridge at times in the 2nd half operated effectively with just 2 forwards, one positioned at 11 and the other at 14. Newmarket forwards rarely had this luxury.

All in all the better team won imo.

I wasn't at the game but listened to it on Clare FM. Newmarket seemed to come good just before half time but only scored, was it three points in the second half?

Only 2 pts in the 2nd half, the 2nd one a lovely one from Colin Ryan. And its not like they struck a heap of wides either, they just couldn't fashion out the chances.

They finished the 1st half strongly getting their noses in front after the Bridge had led from the opening min from a Naill Gilligan pen. They were unable to push on in the 2nd half as the Bridge squeezed the life out of Newmarket

Where are the bridge strongest and is gilligan still that good at 38 or is it they have no one else ?

Saw him in intermediate all ireland a few years back and he was great.

Have ye 3 morey brothers?who will mark lehane ?and whats the half back line like?

Next sunday 2 in the park.

Probably good for clare that the bridge are their as wont have many clare seniors and burnout and a few guys can make a push for the senior panel next year

2 moreys are brothers and the 3rd Morey is a cousin. Some good hurlers but still reliant on gilligan

Of course all star is coveted. Some Tipp supporters can be a little bitter when it's not them . That fella had a Tipp man on his all stars ..says it all

Gilli isn't 38, he's 37, to people that have hurled with him that year is very very important

    Sound thanks

At 37 and gilligan hurling fair play.
    Will morey mark Lehane?

It will be interesting who marks gilligan? A lot expierence he has.

sixmilebridge were fairly good today infairness if they didnt hit so many wides they could have been out of sight by half time, newmarket got there first score of the second half on the 26th minute of the half and relyed way too much on colin ryan, who infairness probley scored the score of the championship with newmarkets last point

it will be an intersting game next week but it will be very hard to see past midleton on the back of connor lehane's demolition of sars last week!!!

The obvious thing would be to have Seadna Morey stick to Lehane, but Quilligan had an outstanding game today as well - center back for the v unlucky 21's in 2008.

Gilligan will be dangerous, but Middleton must be strong favorites

Excellent generalisations and sweeping statements there kid, good to see that you are capable of being impartial - fine you are indeed correct the all stars are massive and 2013 can only be seen as an absolute failure for Colin Ryan and the other Clare senior hurlers who were not selected!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,845 ✭✭✭Hidalgo

If Sixmilebridge can crowd out the space as they did in the 2nd half yesterday, they have a fairly decent chance next Sun. If nothing else that might mean Lehane can only shoot from distance which may lessen his impact if conditions remain the same for the week.

Gilligan is still the Bridges most dangerous forward. The likes of Rory Shanahan brings power and strength and Danny Morey has a fair bit of pace.

Looking forward to seeing Jamie Shanahan in action again. Another of the conveyor belt of recent Clare underage teams

What a dumb a55ed comment. Premierstone just made the point that with a celtic cross in his pocket, he didn't think Colin Ryan would lose too much sleep about not getting an all star.

How the hell is that bitter...? In fact, it's completely the opposite of bitter.

These are the clubs that are really in trouble.
    Scarriff
    Eire Og
    Wolfe Tones
    Killaloe
    Ruan
I would kind of back Scarriff to survive. They just seem to never fear anyone and I think might do enough not to end up in the dogfight.

I had to go back almost a year to dig this quote out. Scariff won their relegation playoff replay against Smith O'Briens (Killaloe) on sunday with a score of 1-14 to 1-11 after the first match ended in a draw. (both games were held in Ogonnelloe)

In related news, the Scariff/Ogonnelloe camogie team are in the intermediate all-Ireland final having beaten St. Johns (of Belfast, i believe) 1-17 to 0-8 points. The final will be played against Myshall, Carlow in two weeks. Fantastic for Clare camogie!

cant understand whats gone so badly wrong with wolfe tones in both codes under age for years they were very strong their senior football team got relageted aswell so something is gone badly wrong within the club

i think from a hurling prospective you can include doora/barefield in to that list there a million miles from where they were in the late 90s and in truth they are mainly a football club at the moment with one of the best underage programes in the county

eire og fall under the same category but i always saw them as a football club aswell which is strange when you think about it there the main club in the county town of one of the biggest hurling counties in the country

i know they won it in 1990 but they have won several jack daly's sence, if there is a silver lining the emergance of shane o donnell and davey o halloran might encourage a few more young lads to pick up sticks in the future but for a club that lives next door to st flannans collage you would expect alot more from them
