Looks like it will be low scoring.

Harrington now -3 through 10. Lowry with a 7 on a par 5 to drop back to even.

Strange round from Lowry, par on all the 3s and 4s.

3 birdies, 1 bogey and 1 double on the par 5s.

Poor from Shane today 39 on front nine. Near last.

Stenson's getting his kit off again :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,698 ✭✭✭✭FixdePitchmark

Hard to stay with Stenson at all - he has basically turned pro golf into a hybrid/3 wood off the tee. A wedge or 9 iron birdie chance. On Par 5s in 2 without a driver

See Tiger has gone done a similar route - but he doesn't seem to have the same power of his younger days. More controlled tempo.

    What a round by Jacquelin.

Tiger just leave the driver in the bag. Playing so nicely with everything but the driver and he continues to use it.

Noticed it in Ryder cup Poulter is some man from bad lies - over trees - in trouble. He is very good at it- maybe a sign he is in to much. Then he is a great putter - Don't know how he doesn't win more

And again... his caddy needs to just hand that driver to someone in the crowd.

Tigers driving is comical. But his 2nd shots and scrambling is awe inspiring.

    What a round by Jacquelin.

Unreal, best swing in golf if you ask me.
Followed him around Carton House and his swing stood out amongst great swings.
    He's a handsome f**ker too, I think I've a man crush :)

Tiger birdies the 18th after missing the fairway by about 50yrds and what looked as if it might be OOB and 3 off the tee.
    Some player.

Did anyone see Thorbjorn hit his ball while making a practice swing on the green? He replaced the ball and knocked it in.

Just wondering what the ruling is there? Are you penalised?

The commentator made some reference to someone doing it earlier in the year and not replacing it and getting disqualified

Ha didn't see that - a bit of a "doh!" moment! A one stroke penalty once he replaces the ball. Two strokes if he didn't replace.

Ì seen it - it was sort of put across as if it was no penalty , because he claimed it was a practice - the incident was a bit dodge imo.

Sounds it. Any ball in play moved at rest by the player - it's a replace and stroke penalty. (Doesn't apply when ball is tee'd up on tee box because it's deemed not to be in play)

The Sky lads tend to be iffy on the rules a lot of the time!

It was unlucky because he was trying to reach over his playing partners line.

It was funny he sort of looked at playing partner saying - that is your fault (he was just in shock)

Very impressed with Poulter again this week. I don't know if he has been like this for a while. But he looks a new level here. I think he struggles a little off tee (wide or a little shorter) - but there on he is unreal - any sort of swing he gets in or around a birdie or par.

For all his image off/on the course and clothes, fun lad - he is very serious and sort of zoned out on the course.

Never imagined saying this - but if this is the new Poulter - he could be in line for big things next year - even a major. He has so much experience now - has played every type of golf and is a great scrambler. Has played great under pressure.

Here is an example here - he is 202 out on a par 4 - is that too far ?
Answer - Poulter short with a hybrid, two other lads have irons and reach/hit the green - so maybe that is worth watching.

Holy god look at that wood from tiger in the rough up over and around trees to a par 5 green in 2!!!!!!!

    I thought he shanked it!!!!

    Outrageous shot

    Outrageous shot

It's crazy the shots like that he can pull off. You're waiting to see the ball crash into the trees and then what seems like 30 seconds later almost Tin Cup like, the ball drops in the heart of the green. Stunning shot.

Then he heals his eagle putt and misses it miles left haha he is human!!!

drives me nuts when pros can't shout fore.
Stenson was clearly going towards the gallary on the Par 3, and not a peep from him.
Very poor form, hoping they can get good kick off someones head so the ball comes back in play.

Really hope Victor can get the job done.

Donaldson with the ace!! What a time for it!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,733 ✭✭✭SnowDrifts

And Dubuisson makes a bogey! So suddenly Donaldson is tied for 1st. Some swing at the top of the leaderboard.

Class - 40.1 times around the world. First class too I'd say - great stuff for a golfer.

Rare is it at an important time.
