    Hello,

I need to get out of Dublin for a day or two (recharge batteries, so to speak).

What locations would you recommend for a whole day trip ( or 2 days if there's cheap accomodation) in Ireland?

Note that I do not have a car, I plan to use trains/buses.

Killarney has always been a great spot for me. Town itself is lovely and surrounding areas are as scenic as you'll get in Ireland. Me and my brother like to cycle out to the gap of dunloe when we're there, really breathtaking scenery.

for cheap and accessible you could try Belfast.
Accommodation is normally very very reasonable (cheap even!), food and drink too.
Transport from Dublin is very regular and the bus is comfy and cheap and motorway all the way, often non stop.
You can walk almost everywhere in the city without need of getting a bus so theres no stress in that aspect, but there are busses and they even (hold your breath) have a timetable so a novelty of the highest order for someone living in Dublin!

For a bit of nature you can go for a walk in the hills overlooking the city, along the lagan towpath, check out some of the parks or take the Bangor train and hop out at one of the intermediate stops to walk along belfast lough (cant quite remember which stops are relevant)
