I reckon Colin Ryan deserves one ahead of Sutcliffe tbh.

I mean, I'd have had him as their...3rd most deserving? After Tony Kelly and Podge Collins, on a par with David McInerney...but ahead of Conor Ryan, Colm Galvin, Donnellan, Bugler, McGrath.

I know they play different positions and everything but I'm slightly surprised Clare got 2 midfielders, thought Galvin might have missed out for Kearney or Browne or someone. He was good alright, but it must have been close.

Colin Ryan though, he was superb against Limerick from play, and brought them over the line with his free-taking...and in general, his contribution from play was much more than usual.

Thought Colin Ryan definitely deserved it, ahead of Sutcliffe or Galvin at midfield

Ya Colin Ryan is the one I'm shocked about. Thought he was a certainty.

    Colin Ryan is very unlucky.

He was nominated in the half forward line, so could not have got in instead of Galvin at midfield.

Ever since he was nominated in the half forward line, his chances of an all star diminished because Harnedy and Tony Kelly were 100% certain of getting one in that line.

surprised that Conor Ryan got one - he was top class in the drawn All-Ireland final but over the course of the year I would have expected Kearney to get the nod over him

I think Colin Ryan should have got one. Top scorer all year. Without his coolness over frees Clare might not be All Ireland champions. Deserved it above Harnedy in my opinion. Although, being top scorer doesn't seem to account for much. O'Donnell was top scorer from play in the championship this year despite not having played many games. I suppose there are only so many all stars that can be awarded to one county. Does anyone know what the record is?

Never expected Shane O'Donnell to get one, after all he may have won us an All Iteland but it was only one game
I thought we had 6 pretty much certainties
Kelly, Collins, Donellan, Bugler, Colin Ryan and McInerney I can't believe they left out the top scorer

    These were my predictions:

    1 Nash
    2 O Donovan
    3 McInerney
    4 McCarthy
    5 Bugler
    6 Donnellan
    7 Rushe
    8 Kearney
    9 Galvin
    10 Colin Ryan
    11 Kelly
    12 Sutcliffe
    13 Collins
    14 Horgan
    15 Mc Grath

    1 limerick, 2 Dublin, 3 Cork

I'd be fairly sure of the two dubs lovely hurlers the pair of them
Nash is a certainty for goalie
Kelly, Collins, Colin Ryan, Bugler, Donnellan fairly certain to get in
    McInerney deserves it
The rest is a mix of optimism and opinion

    I wasn't too far off I suppose

I think your selection is pretty spot on. I don't think O Donnell should have got one this year either I was just making the point that it's unusual for the top scorer from play not to get one. I'm living in Cork and most people I talk to here also thought Ryan was a shoe in. Hopefully it wont affect his performance on Sunday. He must be disappointed.

Harnedy was never not going to get one, he was class.

Doubt he even gave it a second thought, the all stars are completley irrelevant these days and the Celtic Cross in his arse pocket is all that matters.

Shocked they left out Colin Ryan. Madness.

Yup and he's got the chance to win back to back county titles with his club this Sunday.

If you squint your eyes so midfield gets blurred I wasn't too far off :pac:

Drom have said they have no problem with it as long as the Munster Council allow the Munster Final to be put back a week as a result, thus allowing the winners of the semi to have two weeks to prepare for the final, and Ballinacourty will meet tonight to discuss it.

What came out of this meeting in the end? I know that the county final will be next weekend after the Doonbeg v Lissycasey game this Saturday but were they able to put the Munster championship game back by a week?

as it stands no, the winner will have to travel to waterford the day after the county final to play ballinacourty . a winnable game in normal circumstances but i cant see the clare team winning

As I wont be able to make the Clare county hurling final I was very disappointed to see TG4 are not showing it on Sunday. Will there be highlights shown at any time does anyone know?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33 keyplan

I've just heard that highlights will be shown at 8.30 pm on Monday - TG4. Probably a little over five minutes. It's a real shame how football always seems to have priority over hurling especially when you compare how mediocre football can be as a spectator sport. The only really great game of football I saw this year was Dub v Kerry whereas the hurling has been electric all summer!

Doonbeg into the final against Cratloe next week, they beat Lissycasey 15 points to 12 today

Hard to call but I fancy Cratloe, especially with the wide open spaces of Cusack Park as they have some very fast forwards

If your on twitter, keep a check on Eoin Brennan of the Clare People. Just in case the day becomes a complete washout and its changed last minute.
Doubt it will be moved though, if they didn't change venue 2 years ago for Crusheen V the Bridge it'll never be moved
