It seems that an update to the latest cyanogenmod for my galaxy s2 has resulted it it being network locked again. What is the quickest way out of this?

How would Cyanogen Know what network you belong to your phone was locked to?

maybe you had some sort of workaround with the previous mod that caused this?

You'll get an answer much faster if you search the cyanogenmod forums. If this is a bug Im sure you are not the only g2 user with the problem.

Manually downgrade to a previous version using Recovery or restore your backup?

Was your phone previously unlocked by you or factory unlocked?

The S1 / S2 stores it's unlock codes on the phone so that's why there are a tonne of APK's available to unlock your phone.

OP, I'm guessing you upgraded from CM9 to CM10 yes? Run another unlock too again, here's a common one from the Play Store.

Coincidentally I spent all evening last night researching into unlocking phones as I'm moving from O2 and was told by them it will take around 3 weeks to get the unlock code.

Apparently Galaxy SIM unlock is quite good, I haven't had a chance to try it out yet as I'm not near a WiFi connection to download it

Let us know how you get on, I'm currently running CyanogenMod 10.1.0 but haven't moved to any of the later versions yet.

I purchased the unlock code for this phone shortly after I bought it. It was running CM9 and yesterday I took the opportunity to upgrade to CM10
Ill try the unlock apps this evening and report back.

    Thanks all

As a matter of interest in case I have no joy with the unlock apps, where did you purchase your unlock code from, and for how much ?

EDIT : Just an update on this, the app I linked to above will only tell you if your phone can or can not be locked, it's then €2.50 to unlock it by getting the Pro version.

So I used Galaxy_S Unlock instead. With my original SIM it looked like it done nothing so I wasn't very confident about it. Got my new SIM this morning from my new provider, popped it in and no message saying it's locked and it worked fine.
