, apart from bitta lag comp
so youre happy to play a competive game and get penalised for having a decent connection.

Fuk that, thats why BLOPS2 failed for me. Dont mind getting killed or going negative with my k/d ratio because of my gameplay but if its because of my connection speed/ping they can fukoff.

It's not for the kids really or anyone wanting a quick game with high kills. It's not the usual 'jump in run around shoot 'em up fun games' of the past. The game promotes strategy, teamwork, learning maps very well, learning spawn predictions (which are ****e), predicting where your enemy will come from next, and promotes the much hated head glitching, which there are many many places to do it from. Assault rifles dominate. Except of you put a silencer on them, they they are absolutely worthless for range and damage. SMG's don't have the range really for these big maps.
In some ways, it has a hint of BF off it, except more arcade-like and more forgiving.
There are no levolution in these maps though, it's bull. We were sold a lie folks!

I may get BF4 too, cause my days of playing COD exclusively are over. We need to start getting out there in the non-cod world lads. Both games have the €9.99 upgrade to new console offer too, until March '14, which is very good.

i joined a game that was half over..immediatly after i spawned a dog jumps at me and kills me. i literally didnt even get time to take a step

the dog in general is a pathetic killstreak. they make no noise at all so you have no idea hes about to pop round the corner and kill you

The dog perk is totally OP IMO.

So I'm guessing the people who are saying this game is too slow are going to move to battlefield????

Good luck with that, battlefield has always been about slow and easy and tactical which is where ghosts want to go. Give it time.

I understand BF is a much slower game with respect to kills and 1v1 action, and other times is very frantic with the amount of stuff going on around you. I'm just saying IW has adopted some of that in Ghosts. Which is a good thing I reckon.
But I don't think I'll play it exclusively anymore. Ghosts will wean me in to the BF style of play I reckon, and I'll enjoy both. The days of turning on COD for a half hour and go nuts with a mad class is over. Unless you go back to the old games. Hyjacked in Blops2, Dome in MW3, etc...

I'm enjoying Ghosts at the moment I have to say. I'm not really put off by the large maps either because there is plenty of close quarters action, apart from Stonehenge and a couple others. I'm liking Blitz also. Takes teamwork to win.

I'm currently running the K7 w/grip and its serving me well. I've had no issues with lag or hitmarkers yet, apart from one game of Search & Rescue, where I could noticeably see the opponents connection better than mine.

I love Stonehaven haha, once you get used to the maps you know where to look, what routes to run etc, it starts to flow better. Was lagging like **** there for me earlier, shut it off for a while :P Is current gen really gonna get dedicated servers?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 906 ✭✭✭Randall Floyd

I think you need to play at a slightly slower pace than Black Ops 2 also, i was getting mowed down by rushing to much trying to make up ground on the bigger maps.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 149 ✭✭SimmerDean

still enjoying it. cranked is my type of gamestyle. die on my streak and i might say f*ck it but happy enough to go on again. still sticking with the 1st assault rifle SC-2010 with silencer and ext mags. get some good streaks. don't use tacticals and love using lots of perks.

Once I get to unlock dead silence, resistance, amplify, and off the grid, it's then the business end of things will begin.

'Acquired' the game, only have Single Player available at the moment. Gonna give it a try tomorrow, see how it is. The version I have allows SP use with 4GB so if I need to play it on my laptop, I'm set.

As for getting it on console, gonna wait until Xbox One and a patch fixing FPS issues lands. The game is unfinished and not quality tested, much like BF4, which I've seen a lot of videos on the Single Player being VERY poorly designed, built and optimized. Not hating on either franchise, but its evident both devs got a bit lazy here.

I tried to play the sp tonight when my Internet had a boo boo.

I couldn't even finish the first mission. I played for about 5 minutes and got bored of it. Probably was because I was tired and cranky. I'll try it again in the morning.

I bought every call of duty since Modern Warfare(still the best one)until MW3.I didnt buy BO2 and I probably wont get this either.I just think that a new COD game every year is too much.

for the most past I am enjoying it on Xbox, we knew this was coming so can't really be too disappointed and for 44.99 in SuperValu couldnt say no. COD is never tested properly so expect several patches in the pipeline to tidy it up a bit

Not really a huge fan of the game mode 'cranked' as it only really encourages you to run around like a bit of a headless chicken.

Other than that though I'm enjoying it.

I havnt played ghosts so I cant give an opinion on it but from the talk on the internet it doesnt seem to be getting a good reception. I saw this video below and I think it may sum things up for a lot of people

Eh that's a little bit pedantic. 17 seconds of 4 hour campaign. I don't see a problem on them copy pasting a cut scene as long as it makes sense which it does. What's the point in a guy creating a brand new 17 seconds if them dragging a body. Movies re use props. No problem for me.

It just symbolises the cod haterz. Too much time on their hand and picking out everything and being the most vocal even though they have only played 5 minutes or their 'friend' played it.

And if you are listening to the Internet opinions on cod, don't do it the 48 hours after its released. It's when the trolls come out saying how much bf is better and this gun sounds a tone lower than that gun from last year: it's just flaming.

If you like cod and teamwork with a medium pace, you will really enjoy this game. I do.

If you don't like cod and going to get bf, prepared for far more teamwork and a lot of games of around 12 kills and wondering where is everyone while a team mate arses in a jet.

If you want a fast game, go play blops.

They tried changing how they wanted cod played and I say fair play to them. A lot of the hate is unjustified or else the **** from blops getting 1 million kills spawn trapping.

So go get it, or rent it and sink a few hours into it. Then come back.

Trolls are always going to troll cod. It's a pretty easy target in fairness.

Video is compressed to hell by YouTube, you wont see the difference properly. And even in that video you an see how much brighter etc it is on next gen. Need to wait for the real thing or source some clips that are a couple GB in size like the Killzone one that is floating around to see what it will be like next gen
its not next gen v current its a video showing they copied mw2 in ghost

Just did another 4hr stint. I'm not liking multiplayer at all. I recommend anyone starting out and learning the maps to just play squad mode.
It's much better, more fun, less pub stomping, and less lag. YES you heard me, the dreaded lag is back. I was put in to mad lobbies with a mixture of USA and EURO players (usual Spanish, Italian gamers). My deaths were just like blops2, shoot first - die first, and the killcam said I didn't even shoot. Enemies were at least a 1-1.5 seconds ahead of me. I kept checking my broadband speeds and it was good my end, 30ms ping, 8M up, 1.2M down. Nothing wrong my end. I don't think there are as many player online in this as in previous CODs. Seemingly the dedicated servers aren't online yet either. If this is another bullsh*t lie then this is the final straw. The game is on thin ice as it is with me.
Because squads mode is just you against one other player, there is hardly any, if any lag at all.
It's the fastest way to earn squad points too, so you can start buying perks, guns and attachments.
It's too much of a disheartening raping grind when you just play in standard multiplayer games, because there are very good player already.

As for the maps and general graphics, I hate them. Maps are a mess. And it's very hard to make out players because the colours and graphics are washed out and dull. I bet it is 10 times better and easier to play on next gen consoles.
Earlier I was going to storm up to Supervalu and demand my money back, but held back the rage.
I was playing blitz in multiplayer. That is a tough game mode. It's camper paradise. Anyway, bottom line, play squads for a while!

Does XP, Unlocks, Squad points etc. unlocked in Squads mode transfer to Multiplayer?

What's the story with playing as another member of your squad? I've bought 2 with the points but can't seem to play as them? Is there a level requirement?

I played 1 minute. Think you play against one other person. Along with your bots.

It's a bit like boot camp
