Delta - Microwave Oven - Problem

    Hi
    I have a Delta Microwave Oven ( Model MD10824)
    The problem with it is that it will not warm up the food or liquid.
    It does switch on, light up, and go through all other procedures ok - but just doesn't heat things up.

    Pse advise what may be wrong that I can check it out?

    Sounds like the emitter (for want of the correct term) is not working.

    When and where did you buy it?

    What's an "emitter" ?

    Bought 2008 - Aldi - 3yr warranty - so can't take it back

    A microwave is called that as it uses microwaves to heat the water in the stuff you put in it. It obviously has other components, a light, a turntable, a timer - all of which appear to be working. If stuff isn't heating up it sounds like the thing that makes them microwaves is on the fritz. Call it what you will. :D

    Do you think the "whatchamacallit / thingymajig / yokemabob" is fixable without too much trouble? ( Eh - I might have misspelt it

    If you search for "Microwave Troubleshooting" in Youtube you will get a selection of videos which might give you a better understanding of Microwave cookers.

    I'm not suggesting that you try to repair your own one though.

    No, I think you'd be better off getting a new one at this stage, but I'm not an electrical engineer to be fair.

    They actually had them in stock last Thursday, so if you were happy with it you might get a new one! They were 59.99!
